We had the good fortune of connecting with Blessing Nwosu and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Blessing, putting aside the decision to work for yourself, what other decisions were critical to your success?
The most important decision i made following self employment was investing in myself. I learned that i have to go the full length to invest in my brand’s presentation and in my production. Taking time to network and connect with others was great but when i finally started dropping the necessary funds for my productions it started taking things to the next level for me. Its all a process but I always try to make sure theres progress.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets me apart from others is my unique identity. Blesstoimpress represents a proud Nigerian American brand that finds its own representation balancing the Nigerian and the American culture. Alot of my content and music is inspired by real life events that happened to me and just a way to express myself with my style of music. The journey itself is not easy starting with comedy and finally being true to myself and Entering music. Before even jumping into this career i already came from a music family and i have played nearly every style instrumental you can think of. I stopped doubting myself so i can finally jump into the music business. I have no regrets but i still think i have much to learn. Everyone starts somewhere and i learned that not everyone will support you until someone else does. I will always represent my brand proudly and i can confidently say that anyone who stumbles into my craft, will find something they enjoy.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We would go to the mountains. We could go out to the country or gun range to blow off steam. And at night we could hit some lounges or clubs on Glenwood ave which also has great restaurants.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
One person i know deserves a huge shoutout. Thats Royal Ezenwa. A fellow Nigerian Musician that i met in Charlotte, NC. He inspired and helped me to get serious about my craft and go all in. If not for my first single “Owei” that he pushed me to release, I would probably still be procrastinating my music career til today.
