We had the good fortune of connecting with Jewel Hamrick IV and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jewel, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
It actually wasn’t a thought. It was created to hold archived content under my name. It came into play with my fourth film, 5.6.9, and the rebranding that came with that.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m a visual creator in the medium of film and television production. I think what sets me apart from others is that I let concepts grow in their own time. I’m not particularly eager to rush things into production just to be made. I take the time and respect the pre-production process because it is the foundation of your project. I am most proud of is my company and the devotion it has instilled into it. I don’t think I would be able to be where I am and do what I love to do without a great support system like my family and a great team to work with at IV Vision. I can say that it has not been easy. Independent filmmaking is quite expensive. I’ve learned to overcome some of the obstacles of finances and production issues is to remind myself that this, like life, is trial and error. It’s okay to mess up and fail, as long as you learn from that mistake or failure and apply more the next time around. I want people to know that he didn’t do it for the money or the clout; he did it because he wanted to tell authentic stories with intention and purpose.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I am quite new to Atlanta, but I have been to a couple of places that I do recommend checking out. 1. 2 Thumbs Up Diner, My friends and I are big foodies. This is my favorite brunch spot in the city! It’s a cash-only brunch off Edgewood dinner that serves it any way you like! 2. Ponce City Market, I am a sucker for a good meal with a good time afterward. I recommend going to Nine Mile Station on The Roof of the market. There are also carnival games, mini-golf, a carpet slide, and most importantly, drinks! It’s a great date spot for that special someone. 3. Piedmont Park, Love this place! My friends and I will for sure rack up a nice check on Bird scooters zooming around the park for hours! Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My shoutout goes to my #1 supporter, my mother Owennetta Hamrick.
