We had the good fortune of connecting with Jenn & Chase Pickett and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jenn & Chase, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Because we’re parents and heavily focused on our family life, we knew it would be hard to pursue the traditional path to a career in entertainment. We also wanted full creative control, so starting our own business made the most sense.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
We’re a production team and a media company, so our creativity comes out in many forms. We produce comedy videos, picture books, humor books, articles on social media advice and guidance to other content creators, and recently we also started a comedy podcast. It’s hard to narrow down what we’re most excited about or proud of, because we genuinely enjoy everything we do. Maybe it’s fair to say that that in itself is what we’re most proud of. We forged our own path and created a business based on what actually makes us happy. It certainly hasn’t been easy, but it’s always been worth it. When you want something this badly, when it feels like it’s embedded in your soul, you just keep going even when it’s hard. Our business is really two parts. We provide entertainment – a way for people to escape when they’re having a bad day or to feel connected when they need to know someone has had similar, relatable experiences. The second part is about truly celebrating our audience and supporting them in the same way they support us. We have learned a lot about content creation and growing a following on social media throughout the last few years, so we like to feature the talents of our followers while also helping them grow their own platforms.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
The World Of Coca Cola is by far one of the top choices of places our visiting family members and friends are interested in seeing, and it’s one of our favorites, too. Since we still have young kids, we also enjoy the Fernbank Museum of Natural History and the Children’s Museum. If it’s during the summer or around Halloween, we would definitely hit up 6 Flags for a day, and if it’s around Christmas, we’d take them to Lake Lanier for the light show and snow tubing. We usually take our friends to eat at one of the many awesome restaurants at SunTrust Park, even if it’s not a game day, because it’s fun to walk around and explore the candy and ice cream shops afterward. The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
We are forever grateful for our Salties who constantly support and encourage us. We’re lucky to be surrounded by so many talented, wonderful people who believe in us.
