We had the good fortune of connecting with Trevione Townsend and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Trevione, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Positivity speaks is a collaborative effort between my girlfriend and I to spread positivity to those who feel unseen, unheard, and outcasted. I want them to understand their value and importance through my content. My purpose is to give even a little ounce of hope to my audience. So, the business started off simply as to spread positive vibes and it will blossom into much more.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Our business has already launched last week. It is a business with my girlfriend where she runs the online store and I run the production side. We will be producing films, selling products, and focusing on mental health topics such as anxiety and depression. We have a lot in store as we continue to roll out and build and I am excited for all the things we are planning. Along with the production, positivity speaks will have a retail store that will be used to fund the short films. Additionally, there will be a percentage of funds that will be donated to organizations who serve the community and impact them in a positive way. It is definitely not easy because there are a lot of logistics we are still trying to work out. I just want everyone to know my heart. I do this because I know it’s my purpose and I just want to spread that feeling to others.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take them to Ponce City Market because it’s a modern day hang out spot where you eat, drink, and play games. It’s like a modern day theme park. I would also take them to Arabia Mountain to be able to explore the outdoors. I would also love to go to the gun range, archery, and even kayaking. Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would definitely have to shout out my girlfriend, my mom, my mentor, Jonathan, my Sensai, Christopher, and long-time friend, Thomas. They each play a huge part in keeping me motivated, driven, and focused. They each help elevate me so that I can be successful. And they have all either sacrificed, contributed, or both to help get me to where I am now.
