We had the good fortune of connecting with Brittney Davis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brittney, how does your business help the community?
My hiking group allows me to bring women together and develop friendships while enjoying nature. I believe my organization helps the community by creating a space where women can spread positivity and enjoy nature. #LadiesWhoHike also allows us to step away from our busy work and home lives and escape into the mountains for relaxation.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Ladies Who Hike started out as a group of friends hiking and grew into an organization. I’m most proud of how #ladieswhohike grew organically. For the most part it was easy, women saw how much fun we were having from our social media posts and wanted to be a part. I’ve learned how to lead and manage an organization and I have grown and strengthened my leadership and people skills. What I want the world to know about #ladieswhohike is that black women hike. Also, that women can come together and enjoy each other and nature without drama.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Definitely start with a morning hike at Ruffner Mountain. Followed by lunch at one of the many wonderful food trucks around Birmingham. After lunch we definitely have to get out and enjoy some vitamin d and sunshine at Railroad park. Of course no day would be complete with out heading across the street to Michael’s rooftop for dinner.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
All 120 of my members because without them there would be no #ladieswhohike
