We had the good fortune of connecting with Tiffany Oakley and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tiffany, let’s talk legacy – what do you want yours to be?
I want people to remember that even when the odds were against me, I didn’t stop I got knocked down so many times and every time I wanted to stay down and give up my mind and body wouldn’t allow. My legacy would be to pass down this fire inside of myself to my children. The determination I have to be successful, is an on going flame and that’s what people will remember once they see my Multi-Billion dollar company(speaking this into existence) because so successful we’ll end up on the stock market.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I started this business 10/2017 without a lick of knowledge about business. I literally use to go to the library on my lunch breaks to get books on business, finance, leadership, entrepreneurship etc. I taught myself the in and out, my brother was the one who actually gave me the idea. Honestly I wanted to go back to school and major in Business and minor in Finance. When I told him, he looked at me and said “Why spend 40-50k in school when there’s books in the library for free that can teach you the same thing”. Ever since then I’ve been teaching myself lol what he said made 100% sense to me. My business is a vegan skincare & makeup brand. Initially when I started off it was because I wanted to become more girly (Im a tomboy at heart lol). I have extremely sensitive skin and I went to the mall to get my makeup done and I broke out all over my face. It was so horrible I didn’t want to come outside, I haven’t ever experience a breakout before I always kept my skin hydrated and watch what I put in and on my body. I called my boyfriend crying and he actually was the one who gave me the idea to come out with my own brand. I’m glad he gave me the idea because there’s so many people who try to hide their blemishes with makeup not realizing that majority of these makeup products are extremely toxic. Which is why my brand is 100% Vegan, Gluten Free, Nontoxic, Animal Cruelty Free, Hypoallergenic, Natural, Organic and BLACK OWNED! (Had to throw that in there lol we don’t have any beauty brand strictly for us and now we do ) Business is not easy I went through so many challenges, from wanting to give discounts to draw people to wanting to give our free samples. I had to stop myself and think, Louis Vuitton don’t give out free bags, shoes etc and they stood firm on their prices when they started off, so why would I ever sell myself short. The right targeted audience will purchase your products no matter how small your company is stand firm on your price!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was here we would definitely do karaoke lol! Oh my gosh we never sit back and realize how much the small things matter. We would have a ball just jamming out to old school music, catching a nice little vibe. I’m honestly not from Georgia so we will definitely be on Groupon lol looking for things to do. Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I will always dedicate my success to my kids and my best friend Geraldine who passed away in 2019. I took her death really hard and at the time I couldn’t mourn because I was pregnant with my second child. I used that hurt to fuel my success and I’ve been full throttle ever since. I have a eyeshadow palette named after her, my daughter middle name is Geraldine. I owe my success to her, she’s given me the most strength to keep fighting.
