We had the good fortune of connecting with Taylor Danielle and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Taylor, how do you think about risk?
Even as an entrepreneur, risks still scare me a little. I do think that taking risks is the core part of being an entrepreneur however it can still feel uneasy. If it is an idea that keeps coming to me through various signs and confirmations then I take that as a risk that I need to take. Funny, I’m actually taking a really big risk right now. I’m in the process of pivoting from my previous business to a new one. Its something that I’ve always wanted to do but I was so deep into being a salon owner that I didn’t know how transition. Now that life has so drastically changed due to the pandemic and being a soon to be mom of 2 under 2, I had to learn to adjust. I decided to take the risk of doing what makes me happy as this new person and start the journey of blogging which I plan to lead to other things.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a mama, wife, and creative. I started this blog, Lifestyle of Taylor, as a way to document my path through womanhood and creatively journal my transformation. By trade, I am a hairstylist and former salon owner in Atlanta, GA. I’ve been doing hair for over 10 years now and my main motivator in the hair industry has always been to assist women in feeling beautiful outwardly, which I believe reflects back inwardly. My love for femininity and beauty developed into my salon Taylord Styles Beauty Loft. I sought out to create a beautiful, “old school feel” environment for women to come and network and relax in a safe space while getting their hair done. We were successful in doing that and I was honored to have a combination of 12+ stylists, lash techs, and nail techs share their talents and over 500 clients bless my establishment with their business over the course of 3 years. I was gifted the opportunity to live out a dream of mine and I will forever be thankful for that moment in time. We closed our doors right before the 2020 Covid-19 pandemic hit. I was about to have my daughter and wanted to focus on this new title of motherhood. I had my daughter April 1, 2020 and got pregnant again 5 months later with my son. During my pregnancies it has been revealed to me that I have a greater calling. I dealt with post partum depression in between babies and I have been called to undergo a spiritual healing journey in this second pregnancy. Within my journey I have embraced the task of healing myself so that I can be of healing in some form or fashion to other women. Whether that be hair or home decor/necessities, aesthetic and beauty is a talent that I was blessed with as a tool in order to deeply reach other women. It has been the same talent for all my life but I am now pivoting to a new level that is truly me. My love for my marriage, my family, my wombanhood, and my sacred space that is my home has sparked a new passion in me that I’m supposed to share. I encourage my tribe to dig deeper than outward beauty and find the reflection of the beauty within. As above, so below. As within, so without.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well, pre-pandemic, I would definitely take them to eat because that’s my favorite thing to do! Negril Village for Sunday Brunch, Ponce City Market, The Beautiful, Tavern at Phipps, the Pianted Duck. Apache Cafe for poetry and vibes. Botanical garden for a chill date night. Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
So many people have contributed to the decision of starting this new venture. Clients, people who follow me on social media, my husband. They have all helped me to make this decision by sharing with me how I’ve inspired them at some point in time. I take that very humbly and I’m honored that someone would ever feel that way from me simply sharing my story or experience with something. There was this particular client that I had years ago, she was a new client. At her first appointment with me she disclosed to me that she was a psychic and she had chosen me as a stylist for a reason. She shared with me talents and gifts that I had that didn’t resonate with me at the time…until now. Now it all makes sense. She was most definitely a pivotal moment in my story.
