We had the good fortune of connecting with Dedrick Hicks Jr and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dedrick, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Me being a risk taker opened up my creative door like never before. A few years back i was really in search of improving my photography, I had a vision of what I wanted the colors in my photos to look like, the quality of them aswell. So one night while sitting on my sofa watch “The Real housewives of Atlanta” with my wife I purchased my dream camera(at the time) a canon 5d Mark3.. I took that risk caused I believed in myself & I also new I needed the right tools to accomplish the looks I was going for.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My True love is photography, that’s what started it all for me, doing podcast & making videos is something that developed during my photography journey. I most proud of be self taught, producing quality work & putting forth the effort to take my creative career to the next level! I’ve learned so much on this journey & have built some really dope relationships. The one thing that stands out is being consistent in what you do! Being consistent in your craft will be the reason for the success you expierence. My Brand: Reduced Lunch was started by My Brother/My Cousin Freddie Bricks about 6 years ago, I just wanted to help Fred in anyway I could so i started taking photos of him while he recorded the podcast, soon after myself & my brother Brian James became apart of the podcast know as “Reduced Lunch.” The brand has expanded beautifully over the past 2 years with “Reduced Lunch Sports” & “Sex with the lights on” Podacsts, YouTube shows & heavy music content, it’s crazy! I am apart of Reduced Lunch & that’s the brand!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m from Jacksonville Fl, usually me & my friends will get together & go to Top Golf/Jaguars Game, head to a pub or bar & watch a sporting event. My close friends are my family so honestly we make the environment a blast to be around.
