Meet Danietté Thomas: Designer, Stylist & Creative Director

We had the good fortune of connecting with Danietté Thomas and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Danietté, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I just graduated from college with a bachelor of fine arts in fashion design. I had received multiple inquiries regarding custom designs so I decided to go ahead and file my LLC and see how things go from there. I figured if it didn’t work out after a year I could always do something else in my industry. But if I was going to make money I wanted to make sure I did it right. I was essentially already branded. Savannah College of Art and design set you up where you create your own logo, business card, establish a portfolio, create a portfolio style website, etc.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m a creative….have been my entire life. Many know me for my fashion expertise and talent, but those who know me personally understand me as an innovative catalyst, which is my God ordained purpose. I’m literally put into people’s lives/situations for change. I’m also a protagonist so it’s natural for me to want to see everything around me win, even if that means them excelling beyond my own level. Getting where I am today took a lot of pain, suffering, faith, strength, courage, and patience. Anything but easy. But i learned it’s the difficulty that makes the story, progress, and victory that much more worth it in the end. I want the world to know, that I’m the individual that took the negativity, tough times, and obstacles as a sign that I’m headed some where and built to be where I am….so when I say I meant for what I do, IT’S LITERALLY ORDAINED!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’d honestly take her to some of my favorite restaurants like The Olde Pink House, La Scala Ristorante, and Miyabi’s. She loves serenity and peace, so more than likely a Spa Day at Spa Bleu. Maybe hang out in Hilton Head for a day at the beach.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would love to shout out my Pastor & 1st Lady Cummings aling with the rest of my church. I’ve only been a member for about four years, but they’ve supported me like people that have known me my entire life. Support is nit only vital from family and friends, but from spiritual leaders and spiritual families!!!! It’s a whole different level to operate as a Creative under God’s authorization and anointing. It’s caused me to really realize I’m RIGHT where he wants me and nothing that happens is a mistake….and it’s ALL about my PIVOT!
