We had the good fortune of connecting with Elle Nielsen and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Elle, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I wanted my passion to inspire the masses.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Originally, I am a freelance dancer and choreographer. I have had the opportunity of traveling abroad to different continents to perform and teach dance. Being able to be culturally immersed through movement has been a blessing. The journey of following my dreams has not been easy, but has been extremely worth it. In August, my first poetry book was published and I am still ecstatic about my words being printed nationwide. Writing has always been a heartwarming hobby for me. Having another expressive outlet was important for me. Currently, I am a professor of dance at the University of the Virgin Islands, where I am a part of implementing the new Bachelor of Fine Arts in dance program. Being an ambassador for dance academia at the collegiate level in my hometown has been a manifestation that became a reality. Even while listing accolades I remain humble and modest because life in itself is a privilege and a gift. While soaking in accomplishments, I have learned to walk in my truth and own what defines my artistry.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We are definitely hitting up downtown for the best food spots and nightlife. Riding the scooters across the skyline and checking out the local art vendors is on the list to do as well! Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are so many beautiful beings that I have encountered that has made a profound impact in each chapter of my life. My mother, Terry Lynch, is deserves the most recognition for the young woman that I am today. She taught me to always excel at everything I decided to pursue and not to do things just to get by.
