We had the good fortune of connecting with Jahmelia and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jahmelia, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I pursued an artistic career like photography because art is a way for you to expressive yourself and use your creativity to tell a story or express emotion in a way that can touch people differently. Hearing a story verbally is great, but seeing a photo that tells that same story with color and expression is an art that is a treasured to many people. Photography allows you to tell stories, explain feelings, and express yourself in a unique way.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Luxury Rose Photography is an internationally published photography brand owned by a Haitian-American female photographer who specializes in portrait, wedding, event and commercial photography, video and retouching services. When you book Luxury Rose Photography, you will receive top-notch work and have a professional experience. This brand is different then most photography brands because they have excellent customer service, great attention to detail, and amazing creativity to help bring your project to the next level. Luxury Rose Photography services the Northwest Georgia area and also travels. I’m most proud of the work I produce and how I am able to satisfy my clients and exceed their expectations. Capturing the beauty of clients in portrait photography is especially rewarding because I love making people feel good about themselves and help them see themselves in a different light. I got to where I am today by years of practice and learning to perfect my craft. My experience in the entertainment industry as a model and actress has helped me gain invaluable knowledge that has helped me further develop my skillset and improve what I can offer for my clients. There are challenges to owning a business, but I overcome them by keeping my eye on my goal and never giving up. I have learned along the way to always believe in yourself and keep pushing forward!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The Atlanta area has so much to offer! I would definitely recommend visiting the Georgia Aquarium, the Atlanta Botanical Garden, Centennial Olympic Park and the many museums in Atlanta, like the High Museum of Art. For a night out, the club scene is pretty popular, and you can also check out a stand up comedy performance or concert. Before you leave, checking out the Slutty Vegan restaurant for hearty vegan burgers and the Imperial Fez restaurant for Moroccan food and belly dance performances is a must!
