We had the good fortune of connecting with Lyrical Freedom and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lyrical, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
This is an amazing question. I would definitely say my work life balance changes a lot. When I was growing up I was taught to have balance in everything I did. But as I got older and began my podcast along with other business ventures I realized balance isn’t always balance. Balance is the understanding that sometimes I had to set boundaries for myself and other people to have successful moments. I also believe balance is staying grounded in moments when I might feel overwhelmed and doubtful of myself.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My art is me. I am the art that flows through my veins. Podcasting came about when I needed to tell not just my story but the story of life. I had a voice that needed to be heard. Being at the place I am at now was not easy and I’m still learning everyday. Not only how to perfect my craft (podcasting) but also how to obtain new understandings of my creativity. I also have continued to look for answers on how to better my craft to give better content to my listeners. I’ve learned it takes money sometimes to make money and if I’m solely doing something for money, it’ll never be fun. Podcasting is fun without the pressure of trying to make a buck. I want the world to know that I’m not stopping here, I want this podcast to gain more traction, not for views or money but for the positivity to reach the masses

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take them to places people don’t normally think about. I would take them to what I like to call “the secret water falls parks” they are hidden gems in Georgia that most people don’t know about. I would then take them to places outside of the city such as Helen Georgia which has horse back riding, zip lining and other outdoors activities. I’m an outdoors adventurous person so it would have to be places that bring peace and innocent fun. Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to shout out my spiritual self and the higher power for slowing me down and allowing me to figure out self and also for bringing peace into my world. I want to shout out my mother and my aunt as well for always giving that emotional and social support needed to continue following my art. And lastly all my other supports as well for being by my side.
