Meet Olympia Papageorgiou: Recording Artist and Doctoral Student

We had the good fortune of connecting with Olympia Papageorgiou and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Olympia, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
My work-life balance has changed over time due to the multiple goals I have! I am pursuing my Doctorate in Psychology while also being a recording artist in addition to several other things I love to do. I have had to learn when to say “no” to people for things I cannot fit into my schedule. I have also had to learn to say “no” when I am tired, need some self–care time and just want a break. We become so consumed with our goals and wanting to do things for other people, we often forget when to say no. It is important to be intuitive with yourself and know when to stop certain activities or at least slow them down. When school becomes overwhelming, I take a small break and work on something fun. I take it day by day and tell myself that I will reach my goals, it just might take some time. I document everything with my calendar so that I can see my schedule in its entirety and make decisions that are best for me. You must know your limits and know that there is more to life than working. Forgive yourself and learn when to say no so that you do not burn yourself out!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
There are a few things that set me apart from others artistically. I definitely have some flavor in my music where there is a mix of world sounds as well as using different languages. I also do not fit into one genre of music. My songs so far are anything from R&B to International Pop which has been so much fun to do! I am most proud of my perseverance. I work hard to achieve my goals within education, music as well as other things. I try to use my platform to share information, motivation, as well as music with the community around me! No matter what your goals are, there will always be challenges and my drive and perseverance has definitely kept me going.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have several people in my life that are incredibly supportive that I would love to shoutout! My family has definitely been there through the process of me pursuing my education as well as music. My team at Qurriculum Global has been so supportive in my music career! Emmanuel deserves a shoutout for always pushing me to do my best in all of my endeavors. I would also like shoutout anyone and everyone who has been supportive and shares my music with others! You guys are the bomb.
