We had the good fortune of connecting with Bianca Houston and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Bianca, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I was a performer at a very early age, modeling, dancing, acting etc. As the years went by I became a student of the Arts, soaking up all of the information, processes and knowledge I could. Eventually these ideas would pop in my head and I didn’t know what to do with them or how to get them out so I began to research how to start a business. In 2008, I created BHouston Industries, INC with the sole purpose of promoting any and all of my creative ideas! To date, there are short films, stage plays and a book under its belt! And it’s just getting started…

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am an all around creative. From modeling, to hosting, to acting, to directing to writing, I put passion and excellence behind everything I do! I was able to get to the point I am now due to persistence and drive. When I put my mind to something, I GET IT DONE! What has helped me along the way Is understanding that it is never too late to create. You are never too old, too young, or too late to accomplish a goal. There will be challenges, but they are only there to make us better!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If I had friends visiting, some of the places we would visit/explore would be Botanical Gardens, Stone Mountain, The National Center for Civil Rights Museum, Edgwood/Auburn Avenue area, Centennial Park, New Orleans Daquiri Bar, Pappadeux, The Beautiful, The Trap Museum, Suite Lounge, etc!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to shoutout those who have been integral to my successes, so thank you Sharon “Storem” Acres, Tracy Crews, Sid Powell and Tiffany Francis!
