We had the good fortune of connecting with Gio Yaquinto and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Gio, what do you attribute your success to?
The Mosaic Group has been built upon the idea of supporting businesses, artists, and brands by being the team that helps them support their vision. We treat every client with care and respect because our brand is about more than just giving good results, we care about building community and support around our network. That is the most important factor of our success: our interaction with our clients past simply what they hire us for. Being a multi- media group, the versatility our business offers is unparalleled. We can help people grow their music, small business, internet following, online presence, catalogue, or collection of photo and videos. With so much to offer, often our clients find themselves overwhelmed on where to begin. Thats where our care and guidance for their success comes in, helping to guide them to the vision they see for themselves through our resources.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I have essentially restarted my career as a musician by coming into a completely different field of musicianship. After touring the world as an opera singer performing in France, the Czech Republic, Austria, and all over the US, and receiving my Master’s Degree in Voice from Florida State university, I decided to give being a singer- songwriter a try. With the help of fantastic musicians and my producer team JRiveMusic & Carey Durham, I released my premiere 5 song album in November of 2020. I am now playing 2-6 shows a week around the Atlanta area, playing with a band called Edgewood Heavy, host a biweekly live stream featuring rotating Atlanta musicians called ‘Gio’s Stream Shows’ on Youtube, and am poised to release two more songs early this year. The transition form opera singer to singer- songwriter has been a difficult one, completely starting form scratch is always a scary thing. But the thing that has set me apart in this new industry is the diligence, discipline, and determination I have brought to the table. My time as a professional opera singer taught me how to work hard at music, and that same energy is what is helping me to grow at a rapid pace in this new field.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Atlanta is full of the best places to eat and things to do! Barring covid, I’d start out on a Friday by taking them to climb some rocks over at Stone Summit. After they’ve built up some hunger, we’d go to little Italy: Antico pizza for one of the world’s best pizza. Next up grab a drink at the SunDial at sunset before catching Edgewood Heavy play live at Smith’s Olde Bar. (They play every Friday). Saturday we’d go to flying biscuit for breakfast, then tour around Piedmont Park all afternoon. Walk the belt line over to Ponce City Market for drinks and lunch, then head over to Ormsby’s bar for a night of games before catching some late night blues at the legendary Northside Tavern. Sunday is brunch at Loca Luna, hang out there with the DJ before heading over to Little 5 Points for a quick bohemian shopping trip. We’d grab a drink at Argosy in EAV, then head up to Buckhead for dinner at Eclipse di Luna. After eating our fill of tapas and hearing live Spanish salsa we’d cross the street to the painted pin for some quick bowling and games. The night cap is a late night dance part at Revery VR bar. Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The musician network in Atlanta is filled with kind hearted, caring people. I’ve built a family from the connections of playing music with others, and that chosen family is beyond supportive. Go out and catch a local show, tip those musicians! They are working hard to keep music alive, and chances are they re a kind soul as well.
