Meet Danielle Brison | Founder and Gardener

We had the good fortune of connecting with Danielle Brison and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Danielle, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I wanted to create a safe space for people to come together and have a good time and help us to do positive productive things in the community. I wanted to be able to shine light in the community in dark places because we all need some help. I want to teach people that we live to love and meditate to grow. Together we can teach people how to grow our own fruits, vegetables, and herbs and we can teach each other how to embrace our diversity and just live positively together.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
When I first went to college in 1994 after completing Highschool I got pregnant within my first year of college. Between marriage deception and divorce i had 2 more children and was mentally torn. It took me multiple years of starting and stopping and feeling defeated and depressed but I chose to preserve. While I was working on completing my Bachelor of Science in Christian Ministry in 2009 we had a practicum assignment to complete before graduation. I chose to feed the homeless and teach people about homesteading and meditation. We did clothing and food drives. We prepared and ate with homeless families. We collected and donated household items books and toys for families in need. We held bake sales and dinners to raise funds. We attempted to be everywhere we could within limits while balancing single mom life in the trenches. While working on my project I was able to develop relationships with people in the community and together we were able to empower battered women, homeless families and single parents in need. It has not been easy. As a single parent myself I have always put my children first even when it meant having nothing at all. What I went through no parent should endure alone. I wanted to create a way to help other people like me not have to suffer as me and my children did. I have had to overcome health challenges, an autoimmune disorder, and an accident that has caused permanent nerve and physical damage but I am determined to keep on growing and building. One of the most important lessons I’ve learned is to keep a personal relationship with Christ (My Daddy) and to pattern myself for positivity and to keep life simple. At Cannabeebee we are about embracing our diversity and growing and empowering each other to empower another. Iron sharpens Iron.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
we would vist the St. Louis Zoo, Science Center, the botanical gardens, and the aquarium. We would definitely stay at the Kalisto House and we would take in some events at the Cola Lounge and the Church on Delmar. The best Sushi is at Sushi AI in Clayton. The St Louis Arch or catch a Cardinals Game. Psychedelic bowling. Definitely a rooftop bar. The museum of Illusion, Union station, Ax throwing, zip lining, twisted tree and multiple parks for foraging.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to give a special shout-out to my amazing brother, Master Chef Jamon Hancock. He has been such a positive motivator throughout this process of us creating and growing Cannabeebee. My brother has donated money, time, creativity and passion to help us build and grow our family farm and the community garden. He has helped us give back to many families in the community, and he keeps me planting seeds of positivity daily. With him constantly introducing me to more and more people we are spreading the word about CannaBeeBee.
