We had the good fortune of connecting with Rosia and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi rosia, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I am a person who’s very in touch with how purpose drives the everyday life of a human being, and I think I came to the conclusion pretty young that my purpose in this world had to do with people and the power of healing through music. In the darker moments of my youth, I always found music to be a solace and a place where I could feel all of my feelings without anyone telling me to dial them back or to explain why I was feeling what I was feeling. I remember distinctly; I was in college prep class listening to one of my favourite songs at the time, and I decided I wanted to be able to make people feel the safety and joy and life I felt through music. After that moment, I knew I wanted to pursue a career that brought music to people who needed it like I needed it, and give people those real experiences and those real opportunities to heal through music.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m a very ambitious and driven person and I have no problem working multiple jobs at the same time. In college, I was always involved in multiple societies, as well as taking as many audio internships and shadowing industry opportunities as I could. I’d say the thing I’m most proud of was my senior Capstone, when I wrote, produced, arranged, engineered, and mixed my first album. It was very difficult and very exhausting but I would not be where I am today without every single one of those opportunities throughout those years to learn from those who knew more than me. I’ve gotten a lot better at being less of a Jack-of-all-trades and focusing my energy on getting really good at the things I am most passionate about: live sound engineering, production, and music creation. Music creation for me definitely centers around arrangements and lyrics and I think that’s the most important part of my brand and my story, and will continue to be. We live in a time in the music industry where the beat and the hook have a lot of weight in deciding if a song is worth being popular, and I want to bring back attention to what we’re actually speaking over ourselves and the anthems that we are singing along to and bringing into our life.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well my best friend and I are both from Atlanta, but I’ve had tons of friends from Miami come and visit and I’ve shown them a wonderful time! If they’re okay with a chill breakfast out, I’d take them to Waffle House one day, or if they want less diner-feel, we could go to either Maple Street or Snooze A.M. One day we could drive up to Lawrenceville; hit Scrumdiddlyumptious and walk around Sugarloaf Mills before crossing the highway into Duluth and grabbing some Boba on the way to thrifting at Park Ave and Plato’s closet. Back down in the city I always take people to the Beltline on the Krog Street side burn some time at LadyBird before watching the sunset at Burle‘s bar, then close the night out at El Malo for great music. If going out isn’t the vibe, I’m always excited to see a show at Alliance Theatre or take a walk around the High Museum. The George aquarium and Piedmont Park are both worth stopping at in terms of tourist attractions, and if we’re lucky Atlantic Station will have a pop-up farmers market or some city sponsored event to support small businesses! If there’s nothing up there, driving downtown to Smorgasburg is always a safe bet for a Saturday.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would love to give a shout out to my village who has always cheered me on and always believed in me. That’s my friends, my family, who stream my music and celebrate my art even when it doesn’t sound perfect. Shoutout to my creative collaborators, who see my heart and vision before I even have a complete idea of what it is. And to God, who gave me all these gifts to reach the world in a way that I never could on my own.
