We had the good fortune of connecting with Sondra Burton and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sondra, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
I believe financial education should be accessible to everyone, not just those who can afford expensive advisors. Through my tax and business consulting practice and the National Institute of Entrepreneurship, I help people understand money, start businesses, create additional income opportunities, and work toward homeownership. Seeing someone gain confidence, launch a business, increase their income, or achieve a goal they once thought was out of reach is the greatest impact I could hope to make. My mission is simple: empower people with knowledge so they can build a better future for themselves and their families.

What should our readers know about your business?
I am the owner of Certified Platinum Financial Services and founder of the National Institute of Entrepreneurship (NIE). Through both organizations, I help individuals and small business owners build financial confidence through tax services, business education, and entrepreneurship training. My mission is simple: empower people with the knowledge and tools to create opportunities, increase income, and build a stronger future for themselves and their families.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Atlanta has something for everyone. If a friend were visiting, I’d take them to the BeltLine for the energy and local culture, Ponce City Market for food and shopping, and one of our many festivals or live music events. Since I’m a seafood lover, we would definitely enjoy some great local seafood spots. I’d also make time for a Braves game, a visit to the Georgia Aquarium, and a relaxing day exploring some of Atlanta’s parks and outdoor spaces. What I love most about Atlanta is its diversity, entrepreneurial spirit, and the endless opportunities to connect with amazing people and experiences.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to give a shoutout to my daughters, family, clients, and mentors who have supported me throughout my journey. Their encouragement, patience, and belief in me helped me keep moving forward, even during challenging times. I am grateful for everyone who has shared knowledge, offered guidance, and trusted me along the way. My success is truly the result of a community of people who poured into me, and I hope to do the same for others.
