Meet Byron & Cindy Cook | Owner + Operator — The Wedding Venue at Sun City Peachtree Golf Club

We had the good fortune of connecting with Byron & Cindy Cook and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Byron & Cindy, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Success in business happens when you bring a service to the market that is clearly desirable, but not being adequately offered.
The average wedding in Georgia has crossed the $30,000 mark, and we identified a growing gap: couples who want a professional, well-run, and memorable wedding without beginning their marriage under unnecessary financial strain.
Because we handle the venue, food, bar, staffing, and coordination in-house, couples avoid the layered vendor markups that are common at standalone venues. This allows us to deliver a country-club-quality wedding at a price point that is actually within reach. Our average wedding costs around $10,000 all-in, including the venue, food, linens and tableware, setup and cleanup, hands-on family ownership, and even the wedding cake.
When you combine value and quality, particularly in this industry, the interest is there.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
The Venue at Sun City Peachtree Golf Club is built on the belief that country club weddings can be offered without the typical country club pricing. Our venue comfortably accommodates over 150 guests and features both indoor and outdoor spaces, with an all-in average wedding cost of around $10,000—this even includes the wedding cake.
Delivering this level of value is uncommon, and when paired with true family ownership and hands-on operation, couples can feel confident they are receiving exceptional value and a high level of attention to detail.
Our family continues to live the dream of running our own business each day. The three of us hold distinct and essential roles within the operation, supported by a dedicated team of more than 50 staff members who help bring each event together.
After experiencing careers with both large companies and small firms—and spending years without full control over our own direction—entrepreneurship has given each of us a strong sense of purpose. That purpose shows up in every decision we make and in every event we host.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Although our schedules don’t allow us to spend as much time in the city as we’d like, a perfect day away would be a straightforward Atlanta classic.
We’d start in Midtown with lunch at Antico Pizza, which still feels like one of the most authentic and reliable spots in the city. From there, we’d spend the afternoon walking through the Botanical Gardens—it’s an easy place to slow down, reset, and appreciate how much green space Atlanta offers right in the middle of the city.
To finish the day, we’d head over for a Atlanta Braves game. Whether or not you’re a huge baseball fan, the energy, food options, and overall atmosphere at the Battery make it a great way to spend an evening.
It’s a simple itinerary, but it captures what we enjoy most about trips to Atlanta: great food, beautiful spaces, and shared experiences that don’t have to be overcomplicated.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I think our family unit as a whole deserves recognition, as each of our individual skillsets put together are necessary to produce the product our customers have come to expect.
This business works because each of us brings a different skill set to the table. Ryan leads the technology, marketing, and systems side of the business, applying what he’s learned as a recent University of Georgia graduate while modernizing how we reach and serve our couples. Cindy brings more than 30 years of interior design experience, along with a sharp eye for detail, ensuring every event is cohesive, thoughtful, and executed with care. Byron oversees the overall brand and business strategy, keeping the operation prepared for the current and the future
Being family-owned means decisions are made collaboratively, standards are personal, and accountability is constant. That shared commitment is what allows us to deliver a consistent experience and continue building something we’re proud to stand behind together.
