We had the good fortune of connecting with Brandy “BrandyWine” Rankins and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brandy “BrandyWine”, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
At J. Rapha Wellness Co., our mission is to create a safe space for women to heal, grow, and thrive. We focus on holistic wellness—mind, body, and spirit—because true health is more than just physical. By encouraging sustainable lifestyle changes and offering resources tailored for women in transitional seasons of life, we aim to build stronger, healthier communities one woman at a time.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My professional life has been anything but traditional—it’s been a journey of merging wellness, creativity, and purpose. As the founder of J. Rapha Wellness Co., I help women in perimenopause and beyond reclaim their health, balance, and joy. At the same time, I embrace my creative side as an actress, author of nine books (with my 10th on the way), voice actor, UGC creator, podcast host, and momager to my talented children.

My career has never fit into one box because I believe women are multifaceted and powerful. Every role I hold is connected by one mission: to speak life, inspire others, and leave people better than I found them. Whether I’m coaching, creating content, or stepping into character, my goal is always to uplift and empower.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friends came to visit, I’d make sure they got the full Atlanta experience filled with great food, fun, and unforgettable memories. We’d kick things off with dinner at one of my absolute favorites—Okiboru, where the Tofu Ramen is comforting and overall unmatched. For something fun and interactive, we’d spend a night at Beat the Bomb, a high-energy escape room that’s always a great time.

During the week, we’d definitely stroll through Atlantic Station to stop at IT’SUGAR for laughs and memories while taking photos with their oversized candy boxes and sweet laughs, and then grab gourmet Caramel or Candy Apples from Kilwins—their creations are truly an experience. For a more peaceful outing, I’d take them hiking at Kennesaw Mountain, which is especially beautiful in the evenings. And for a casual sweet treat, a late-night stop at Cookout for their milkshakes is a must-my go-to flavors are Cookies & Cream with caramel or the Strawberry Cheesecake shake.

For dining, I’d include GYU-Kaku Japanese BBQ (I always go for the shrimp and seafood since I’m a pescatarian 😊). We’d rotate breakfasts between Atlanta Breakfast Club—their Peach Cobbler French Toast is legendary, High Noon Brunchery, which is not only painted completely pink but also serves incredible Lobster Beignets, and Marietta Diner, a true local gem with hearty portions. And of course, no trip would be complete without a little shopping to wrap it all up!

Atlanta is so vibrant—it has something for everyone, whether you’re a foodie, an adventurer, or just looking to soak up good vibes with people you love.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First and foremost, I dedicate my shoutout to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ—without Him, I am nothing and everything I do is because of His grace. I also want to honor my incredible husband, Thomas Rankins Jr., my rock and constant support. To my children—Jah’Mir, Toma’rez, Braelyn, and Brielle—and to my grandson, Tamir, who we are joyfully awaiting any day now, you are my inspiration and my why.

I am also blessed with a strong family foundation: my siblings Eric, Jared, Jodi, and Senequa; Auntie Rocky, my cousin Latrese (Nikki); Uncle Roger and Aunt Betty; Mama McQueen, Mama T, and Granny, who have each poured love and wisdom into my life. To my best friends, who are truly my sisters—Antonise, Lisa, Victoria, Jasmine, and Tierra—thank you for your unwavering love and encouragement. And to TK, Anthony, and Andria Chappell, I am so grateful for the light and support you’ve brought to my family and to my journey.

My community may be small, but it is powerful—and I thank God for every one of them.
