We had the good fortune of connecting with Ja’Neka Lindsey and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ja’Neka, why did you pursue a creative career?
I’ve always been a performing artist. I had dreams of attending Juliard and pursuing music and dance. Life happened, I changed and now my artistic talents are being displayed in film, theatre, and content creation.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I paused pursuing my career in entertainment when I became a Single mom. I pursued formal education in Accounting and started an accounting and taxation firm. It has not been easy raising children and being an entrepreneur. There is ups and downs, good times and bad times. There are people who won’t believe in your dreams or purpose and won’t support your efforts. Being in the entertainment industry can lead to lonely roads. It gets tough, but no matter what you have to keep going!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love food so I would start by getting good food and drinks from Frost’s bistro, we would visit TI’s trap museum and then relax at Waldorf Astoria Spa. After dark we may bar or club hop in downtown Atlanta and end the night with a night cap at Magic City.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My kids for being my drive, inspiration and reason
