We had the good fortune of connecting with R G and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi R, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I wanted to start a business where my friends were able to come get help, representation, resources and hopefully find success through exploration of their art form and expression. We’re in a time where people dont really want to answer their emails or emails aren’t going through but I wanted to make sure I pushed hard for people I know I’m working with who have what it takes. In the pandemic, the arts really wanted to make video submissions more accessible and we’ve in a way done away with that to go back to the old method of signing up on lists, maybe being seen and losing slip or work hours to not be seen, considered or even to make it into the room. However they’ve waited for 10 hours. It’s a pretty frustrating process. The artist industry is really difficult sometimes.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I feel like answering emails, communication, and dedication are a lost art. Unfortunately, that’s a lost art. The respect of people’s time, art, passions and creativity. I wish we valued people and their assets. The industry is hard enough as It is. How much would it hurt to write a-or preschedule an email that says “we received your message. If we need anything more from you, we’ll reach out.”. It’s pretty frustrating that it’s not something that seems standard. If it doesn’t bring people money or high dollar return it’s not always worth it to bigger agents and management companies. While we may not get the best auditions and calls, we are for sure interested in trying our absolute best because we believe in the people we work with.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Visit any local businesses, food trucks, crepe places, any place that sells bagels and lox, sushi is life, Greek restaurants, Jewish bakeries and Lebanese bakeries and food establishments. Also, find a Thai Restaurant. Thank me later!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Shout out to the college professors who are looking forward to allowing their students to join them in their work field. Shout out to professors who encourage collaboration and recognize that you can learn different skills by learning on the job or in the field. Shout out to college professors who want kids to learn from other teachers and form their own opinions of the arts industry. Shout out to artists who are creating their own avenues and outlets to self express, go viral, and keep themselves in the game. Shout out to the individuals who feel like they can’t catch a break in life, mental health, the industry, love, and work but they still continue to show up. Shout out to the parents who love their kids well and fully even when they feel they’ve reached rock bottom. Shoutout to the college cohorts who have become fast friends and family. Shoutout to those individuals who meet as a happy account. Shout out to the siblings who encourage and love their siblings even if they feel like failures or suffer from imposter syndrome. Shout out to the friends who become family and siblings who aren’t related by blood that treat you like one of their own. Shout out to the grandparents who are instilling music, legacy, memories, and history into their grandchildren. They dont know it yet, but it will change their life. Thank you!
