We had the good fortune of connecting with Crystal Barbee and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Crystal, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Starting my own business was not just a career move; it was a realization of a dream. From a young age, I was fascinated by the idea of creating something from nothing, of shaping an idea into a tangible product or service that could benefit others. This entrepreneurial spirit was ignited by watching my family and community members who always shared the same dream. Their passion and determination inspired me to follow a similar path.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Photography provides me a unique outlet for my creative expression. Through the lens, I can tell stories, evoke emotions, and convey messages that words often fail to express, this is something that doesn’t always come naturally when you pick up a camera. For me it did. Starting my photography business allowed me to fully explore and develop my vision, and share it with others who appreciate it as well. My career has always been driven by love, the love of people and the love of my family. By creating memories for others and creating my own business, it has allowed me as a mother, the freedom to be more present in my son’s life. I’m so very thankful for that.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would say that if you’re looking to unwind and enjoy the outdoors , it would 100% be Lake Lanier. My favorite thing is to cruise around on the lake, grab lunch at a local lake side restaurant or go for an early morning kayaking adventure. It’s such a peaceful and beautiful north Georgia destination!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My mother , she is a role model in every sense of the word. Her strength, resilience, and hard work have inspired me to strive for greatness in my own life. Thank you for setting an example of how to live with integrity and grace, and for showing me the importance of perseverance and dedication.
