Meet Bindi Mehta | Comedian

We had the good fortune of connecting with Bindi Mehta and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Bindi, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I have been always very passionate about being an actor, writer and all such work. I got some small roles in TV shows during my college days. I came to United States few decades ago. I have been working as system admin since last 15 years but my first love is to do acting and writing. I made few videos for events, job and Friends. Everyone was saying why don’t you make videos for Social Media. Lately I am creating many skits and create contents on social media. I work very hard but never feel tired or bored because that’s my passion.
I have by now created 100s of reels on Instagram and I have so far close to 100k followers. Some skits get million plus views. It is so inspiring. I got an opportunity to submit an ad for Doritos during the Super Bowl. It gave me an idea to start making funny ads. I have now started a business, I know it’s a long path to get good business since I am going through a learning curve regarding how to reach out to potential customers but I am getting there. I have created few sample Ads to show to get an order. Ads I create for the clients can go to my 100k subscribers to have a good start but anyone can view from any part of the world. I said I got 2.5 Million views on one of my reel. I am certain to get some good client accounts very soon.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Since childhood, I have participated in various competitions such as debate contests, story writing, and auditions for TV shows. I won prizes year after year, which kept me motivated and excited. One of the most thrilling moments was landing a role in a TV show during my teenage years in India, competing against hundreds of people who auditioned for various roles. Looking back, I realize this experience nurtured my passion for acting—whether on stage, TV, or in movies. I believe this creative spark comes from my mom and dad, who not only loved such activities but also had great taste in the arts.
Over the past 30 years, I have created a TV pilot and an independent short film. Although they didn’t bring me any financial gain, the experience was invaluable. It was challenging to justify the money invested, but nothing ever kept me away from my passion for long.
Thanks to social media platforms, I’m back and more motivated than ever. I now create my own content—writing stories and scripts and producing reels. It’s incredibly fun and fulfilling. My dream is to someday have my own movie studio and production team, producing high-quality TV shows, movies, and social media content, while also exploring acting and directing opportunities.
I truly feel like one of the luckiest people, with the hope of turning my lifelong hobby into a full-time profession. When that happens, I might just consider it my version of “retirement”—even if it will be working long hours on set. Because I will be doing something I love
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love Mexican food. I love Travelling and going exotic places. I love to go to beach. Atlanta is the best place I can imagine myself. Best weather and all my friends are here. I can make plan for my friend who is visiting me like this:
Friday Night: stand up comedy- Gwinnett civic center is close by or Aurora Lawrenceville Saturday Morning: Farmer market at Suwanee Town center. Brunch at restaurant and Atlanta downtown to see Aquarium and CocoCola factory.
Sunday: chill at home and make home cooked lunch. Mall of Georgia in the evening and eat at food court

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My mom and dad were a great source of inspiration while I was growing up in India. I don’t recall ever hearing a “no” from them when I wanted to take part in any art, music, acting, or sports activities — in fact, they were always so proud of me.
After moving to the US, my husband has been a tremendous source of support and inspiration. He shares the same passion for movies, music, and acting, so I feel incredibly fortunate. He has stood by me every step of the way — whether it’s about my job and career or my hobby and passion for filmmaking. He’s not just my husband; he’s my best friend.
My sister has also been a huge supporter of every venture I pursue. We’re extremely close, especially since she’s been my only family here for the past 15 years. She helps me with setting up Instagram content, brainstorming ideas for videos, and exploring creative concepts.
I feel truly blessed to be surrounded by such loving and supportive family and friends. Their encouragement keeps me going, and I couldn’t be more grateful.
