Meet Niyah Russell | Licensed Esthetician & First Time mom

We had the good fortune of connecting with Niyah Russell and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Niyah, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I’ve always been passionate about skin care and making people feel confident in their own skin. As a licensed esthetician, I saw a gap in the industry where luxury skincare services weren’t always accessible or tailored to individual needs. I wanted to create a space where people felt pampered, educated, and truly cared for. Plus, becoming a mother gave me the extra push to further my knowledge in skincare. I wanted to have more than just a skincare product line. I am so grateful for the freedom to create my own schedule and set an example for my daughter about chasing her dreams.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What set’s my business apart is the level of care and personalization I bring to my clients. I focus on creating a luxury experience while making my clients truly understand what their skin care needs. I want every person who books with me to feel refreshed, empowered, and glowing.
I’m extremely proud of taking the risk to go to esthetician school whole I was pregnant with my daughter. It was one of the scariest yet most rewarding decisions I ever made. I knew that if I wanted to build the life I envisioned for us, I had to bet on myself, even when the timing wasn’t ideal. I pushed through, dedicating over 50 hours a week in class to ensure I graduated before my due date. It wasn’t easy, but when I graduated, I felt an overwhelming sense of accomplishment.
The journey to where I am today wasn’t easy. I faced moments of doubt, financial strain, and the challenge of balancing mother hood with a building a business from the ground up. I learned that discipline and belief in yourself can push you through anything. One of the biggest lessons Ive learned is that success doesn’t happen overnight. You have to be consistent, keep evolving, and be willing to take risks.
I want the world to know about my bran because it’s bigger than skincare. It’s about inspiring others to follow their passions, no matter their circumstances. Whether you’re a mom, a young entrepreneur, or someone just starting over, I want my story to be a reminder that anything is possible when you believe in yourself and put in the work.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
if my best friend was visiting Atlanta for a week, I would make sure they try my favorite food and hang out spots. However, I am from NYC. I am still learning Atlanta’s best spots to hang out. A week is a long time! I think I would be better planning a weekend trip! I am a bit of a homebody.
Day 1: First day in Atlanta!
Breakfast: Toast on Lenox! My favorite brunch spot. Their Grits and shrimp is so good.
In the afternoon I would take her to Buckhead Lenox mall for some light shopping. For lunch we can hit up Nobu which is a short walk from the mall. I love walking in that area because It reminds me of home.
For dinner, MCK Restaurant and bar! I love their food and the vibes there are great. We can end the night off at a lounge or club. Opium is fun and always a vibe!
Day 2: Breakfast at a restaurant at Ponce City Market. I love El Vinedo Local. Afterwards we can walk around, shop local brands and enjoy the skyline.
Lunch: My friends only visit when it’s hot, we would sit by the pool with snacks, suntan spray and some drinks! laugh and talk and maybe nap!
For dinner we can go to Pasha Restaurant and bar! love their food and they play great music. They also have hookah so we can end our night there.
Last Day I would take them to the Georgia Aquarium! Everyone is always so excited to learn it’s the biggest one in America! It would be a great activity to bring my toddler along. There’s the cocacola factory next door, so many places to eat and a huge park.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I wan to take a moment to sincerely thank my amazing clients- each and every one of you who has trusted me with your skin, supported my business and been apart of this journey. Your loyalty, encouragement, and word of mouth recommendations mean the world to me. Every appointment, every kind review, every referral- It all reminds me of why I do what I do. Seeing you leave my studio feeling confident and glowing Is the most rewarding part of my work.
