Meet Mi’kael Chalyce | Recording Artist- Soul Music

We had the good fortune of connecting with Mi’kael Chalyce and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mi’Kael, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
Work-life balance is something I’ve had to redefine constantly as my career evolves. In the beginning, I thought balance meant trying to keep everything perfectly even—splitting my time between music, business, and personal life like a structured schedule. But over time, I realized balance isn’t about making everything equal; it’s about making sure everything gets the right energy when it needs it.
There are seasons where my artistry demands more of me—late nights in the studio, performances, and creative deep dives. Then, there are moments where I have to be intentional about rest, self-care, and just *being*. Shea Butta Shawty, my brand, started as a side hustle, but now it’s an extension of my artistry, so even my downtime feels purposeful.
I’ve learned to listen to myself—if my body says pause, I pause. If my creativity is overflowing, I lean in. Balance isn’t static; it’s a rhythm, a flow. Some days, I’m fully immersed in my music. Other days, I’m grounding myself with self-care, good food, and the people who remind me who I am outside of my work.
Now, I think of balance as alignment—making sure whatever I’m doing is feeding my purpose and my peace. I don’t chase a perfect split; I chase *Harmony*(my two year old).

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My art is an experience—a fusion of galactic soul, alternative R&B, and raw storytelling. What sets me apart is how I blend ethereal sounds with deeply human emotions, creating music that lingers and resonates.
I’m most proud of staying true to my vision despite industry trends. My single “Faded Love” captures that fusion perfectly—soulful, immersive, and unforgettable.
The journey hasn’t been easy, but I’ve learned that authenticity always wins. I overcame challenges by trusting my instincts, evolving, and leaning on my community. Real art disrupts and connects.*
Everything I create is about elevating experiences and making people feel deeply seen. This is just the beginning.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My journey wouldn’t be what it is without the love, energy, and wisdom of so many people who have poured into me.
First and foremost, I have to give a huge shoutout to my big sister—the one who first put me on to the music that shaped my sound. She introduced me to artists who made me fall in love with storytelling, harmonies, and the magic of soul-infused melodies. She unknowingly planted the seeds of my artistry long before I even realized I’d be walking this path.
My producer also deserves major recognition. Not only did he help me evolve my sound, but he reignited my passion for writing in a way that feels new yet deeply familiar—like I’m finally speaking my most authentic truth through music. The latest masterpieces wouldn’t exist without that creative synergy.
And of course, my Mama. Her style, her energy, her ability to command attention with grace and intention—all of that has influenced me. She’s even been the final say on some of my performance pieces, and her insight is always on point.
Beyond them, I have to acknowledge my community—the people who show up, support, and believe in what I do, even when I’m still figuring it all out myself. Every share, every one who pulled up to shows, every word of encouragement keeps me grounded and keeps me going.
This journey isn’t just mine—it’s a collective effort. And I’m beyond grateful for every soul that’s played a part in shaping it.
