Meet Missy Waller | Interior Designer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Missy Waller and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Missy, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I knew I wanted to not only do what I love but also be my own boss. I didn’t have a plan but to just start. I got my LLC at the end of 2023, and Waller Home Interiors was born. I got a lot of advice and help from some of my designer friends. For the most part, I’ve been figuring it out as I go. You never stop learning when you have a business, but I think that’s what makes it so worth it and fulfilling!

What should our readers know about your business?
I started my Interior Design business at the beginning of 2024. I’m still learning so much along the way. It hasn’t been easy but that’s expected as a new business. The biggest challenge for me is finding clients. A lot of factors come into play when trying to find clients like, how to market myself, location and networking. I try not to get discouraged. I know the more success I have, the more my business will grow. My passion for interior design started at a young age. However, it wasn’t until after I had my second child, I decided it was time to finally follow my dreams. As a busy Mom of 2 boys, I understand the importance of having a home that is both beautiful and functional. At Waller Home Interiors we are passionate about creating spaces on a budget for you and your family. Our approach is all about finding what works best for your household and bringing it all together, no matter how big or small.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love Atlanta! There’s so much to do and see! I would spend the day downtown at Piedmont Park and Ponce City Market. I would end the night at Skyview Atlanta to get a beautiful night view of the city and an espresso martini from Cafe Intermezzo.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My biggest support has been my husband. He’s always stood by me no matter what I wanted to do and I think that’s been very important. I also have a few fellow designers on Instagram that have been so supportive and of course my closest friends.
