Meet Mike Albuquerque

We had the good fortune of connecting with Mike Albuquerque and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Mike, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I have spent the bulk of my career working in corporate America for advertising and design agencies helping major corporations with their branding and marketing needs. When I decided to start my own agency, I wanted to bring all that knowledge and experience and turn it into a service that could help small businesses grow. So I went to work, I reviewed all the strategies and knowledge that I had accumulated in over 10 years in the industry and streamlined it to where it could become efficient and effective for small businesses. In terms of services, I knew that I wanted to lead with brand strategy as that is the foundation for effective marketing. The follow up services would be branding and website development, two of the key services to help a small business create their identity and tell their story to their audience.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
We’re a website design and development agency here in Marietta, GA, but what sets us apart is that we focus on creating digital experiences that delight. We believe that by capturing your visitor’s attention in a positive way, you’re one step closer to turning them into customers who are willing to try our clients products or services. We take pride in the fact that we don’t just design websites, we craft experiences that resonate with your target audience and drive results.

We got to where we are today through a lot of hard work and dedication. It wasn’t always easy, but we overcame challenges by focusing on building strong relationships with our clients and constantly learning and evolving our skillset. Every project brings new experiences and challenges, and that’s what keeps things exciting!

The biggest lesson we’ve learned is the importance of listening to our clients and understanding their unique needs. They know more about their businesses than anyone, that’s why it’s important that we listen to them and craft something that will work for them specifically. We don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach, and we take the time to get to know each client’s business before we start working on their website.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’ve been lucky to have several friends come visit town, and the first spot I take them is Marietta Square. The variety of options there along with the ambiance of the actual square always makes for a fun night. I like to follow that up with a visit to Ponce City Market in town, where we’re able to try different foods and have some drinks in the rooftop. If this is a longer trip, we might go spend the day in Helen, GA, a town that is different from what most of our friends have seen and has its own quirky personality.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would not be where I am if it weren’t for my alma mater, SCAD, where I got both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees. Not only did I gain the expertise I needed to venture into the industry there, but I had the support from a wonderful staff and faculty who presented me with every chance I had to succeed. From the wonderful professors who pushed me harder and harder to the staff who brought in guest speakers, job opportunities and more, SCAD was an amazing experience. And one that came full circle when I got the chance to go back to teach there and to share my experience with students.
