We had the good fortune of connecting with Jill Mcmanigal and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jill, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
My Story:

I was born & raised in a small town in NW Georgia. I chose to start a family in the suburbs of Marietta, Ga.

I grew up with amazing work ethics that were driven in me by my hard-working family.
My parents always told me that things in life are not free, and you have to work hard to achieve your goals.
They also have always instilled in me to find a job that I truly love.

I am a nurse by trade but while serving others during those years in the medical field I had the opportunity to get into medical sales.
I enjoyed networking with my clients, vendors & peers. This allowed me to continue to serve others as well as to connect with the community.

I have planned, designed and executed many events throughout my career, and I knew that I wanted to own my own company one day.

I realized that the event industry was the area I wanted to focus on as it allows me to combine my love for creativity, organization, and personal connection.

With years of networking with others, I saw the potential to use my relationship-building skills to establish a client base and foster trust.
My experience planning events made me confident in my ability to handle logistics and creating meaningful experiences for my clients.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
At Forget Me Knot Weddings-Events, I am dedicated to creating unforgettable moments with love, care and attention to detail-values inspired by the strength and determination of my late mother who taught me to cherish the beauty of lasting memories. I want to provide the same for my clients so that their experience with Forget Me Knot is one to remember.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Oh my… Where do I start?
As I mentioned, I am a true Southern Ga girl so I have a few great places I would love to show off.

I would start out with brunch at the Flying Biscuit Cafe. They focus on Southern-inspired comfort food made with fresh ingredients. My favorite is the Ga Peaches & Cream Waffle Breakfast. Of course, you have to try one of their yummy signature drinks such as a mimosa or bloody mary.

Next, we would either take a tour in the corporate building of Coca-Cola or visit The Battery after brunch.

For Happy Hour we would visit the fairly new “Pinky Promise” in Atlanta. It is a new champagne bar/piano bar.
You don’t want to miss out on this one! It’s Atlanta’s dazzling new female-focused champagne bar!

Dinner would take us to Marietta Square where we would choose “Hamp & Harry’s”. It’s an intimate cocktail bar and a lively, comfortable, neighborhood joint. I love talking with the locals at the square.
Or we might would go to The Garden Room in Atlanta. What a warm welcome the Garden gives. You are surrounded by beautiful florals and the cutest cocktails. I love the floating ducks…..

Some of my other favorite spots would be downtown Woodstock or Alpharetta to do a day full of shopping.
They both have some of cutest boutiques.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to give a shout out to my mother who Forget Me Knot is named after.

Forget Me Knot Weddings-Events was established in memory of my sweet mother who was diagnosed at the young age of 57 with Alzheimer’s. She lived until the age of 72. She was a wonderful mother who continues to teach me to reach for my dream and never to lose sight of the beautiful things that the world has to offer.

The main meaning behind the forget-me-not flower is that it’s the symbol of remembrance.
It also symbolizes love, loyalty, faithfulness and unbreakable bond.

I also want to give a shout out to the vendors I have had the pleasure to work with (some of the best) and my past clients that have stood by me and supported me during this amazing adventure.
