We had the good fortune of connecting with Crystasia Edwards and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Crystasia, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting my own business stemmed from my passion for beauty and helping people. As a makeup artist and beauty influencer, I’ve always believed in the power of self-expression and how makeup can boost confidence. For me, it’s not just about the surface—it’s about making people feel good about themselves inside and out.

I’m also deeply passionate about mental health, and I’ve seen how self-care and feeling your best can positively impact your mindset. I wanted to create a space where I could combine my love for beauty with my desire to uplift others, whether that’s through the artistry of makeup, sharing relatable content, or fostering conversations about self-love and mental wellness.

Starting my own business gave me the freedom to build something authentic to who I am while creating meaningful connections with people.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My work as a makeup artist and beauty influencer is all about empowering others to feel confident and beautiful in their own skin. What sets me apart is my genuine focus on connection and authenticity. I don’t just see makeup as a tool for enhancement—it’s a way to celebrate individuality, boost self-esteem, and even heal emotionally.

I’m most proud of the moments when I’ve been able to help someone rediscover their confidence or feel like their best self. Getting to where I am today has not been easy—it required hard work, resilience, and a lot of self-belief. There were moments of doubt and challenges, but I overcame them by staying true to my purpose, trusting God, and leaning on my support system.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that consistency and passion will always open doors, even when the path isn’t clear. I want the world to know that my brand is more than just makeup—it’s about self-love, mental health, and using beauty as a tool for empowerment. My story is one of perseverance and faith, and I hope to inspire others to pursue their passions with confidence and purpose.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend were visiting Atlanta, I’d plan a week filled with everything I love about this city! To start, we’d head to Bullseye Gun Range for some target practice. It’s not only fun but also empowering, and I believe in promoting safety and protecting ourselves as women.

For food, I’d make sure we hit up some amazing brunch spots like The Peachtree Cafe, Breakfast at Barney’s or The Select—great vibes, delicious food, and a perfect start to the day. For lunch or dinner, we’d explore some top-notch ramen spots like Okiboru Ramen or Ton Ton Ramen. And, of course, no night out is complete without some hookah at a chill lounge like Elite Hookah Lounge or Sapphire Lounge !

I also love being in nature, so we’d take a day to visit Stone Mountain, Amicalola Falls or Sweetwater Creek for a hike surrounded by waterfalls and peace. It’s such a beautiful way to recharge and connect with nature.

Finally, I’d carve out some time for shopping at Mall of Georgia, Lenox Square or Ponce City Market, where we could explore unique boutiques and grab a bite while people-watching. Atlanta has such a perfect mix of excitement, relaxation, and culture, and this itinerary would be my way of sharing the best of the city with my best friend!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First and foremost, the biggest shoutout goes to God! Without His guidance, grace, and blessings, I would not have made it this far in my journey. His strength has been my foundation during challenging times and my light in moments of uncertainty.

I’d also like to give credit to my family and close friends, who have been my biggest supporters, constantly encouraging me to pursue my dreams and reminding me of my worth. Lastly, I want to thank my mentors, clients, and followers who trust in my work and inspire me to keep growing. Every step of this journey has been a collaboration of faith, love, and support, and I am truly grateful for everyone who has been part of it.
