We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashley Carpen and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ashley, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thought process was I had to create a platform for women to be able to be a part of of a real sisterhood and also be able to gain resources from what we can all put in together so just basically a platform where women can feel 100% authentically themselves in this male-dominated industry that were in today and be able to unleash any type of creativity of their own.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am an artist first. I also have my own finance company and am the creator of Tha Female Cypher. What sets me apart from this world is that I’m not afraid to be 100% me. I’m not afraid to say no or to say yes to the right thing. I’m not afraid to be complex..

I feel like what got me here today is being consistent and being me. A lot of people really fail when it comes to being an authentic version of them selves so I feel like that’s what got me where I’m at.

I feel like nothing in life is easy so I don’t expect anything to come easy or be easy. I don’t really have heavy expectations when it comes to things that I’m trying to accomplish in life. I just like to plan apply and just execute.

The lessons I learned on the way is probably staying consistent. Make sure you always have hope in yourself and never give up.

What I want the world to know about me is that women can do anything that they could put their mind to women is able to achieve anything they want to achieve in life as long as we’re focused and really focused on that mission and apply it the way that where we want to influence then I feel like we’ll be able to accomplish anything we want to do in this male-dominated world that we’re not expected to survive in.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
So a day in Georgia I feel like you just really have to enjoy the nature and the great food amenities that’s around. We’re really big on black excellence out here so definitely visit anything that gives you the inspiration of history and you know just makes you appreciate the life in the skin that you’re in. So I really feel like being yourself and expressing yourself in any type of way is Georgia. I feel like you could do that in Georgia so definitely check out the food spots that are black owned straight up. Just check the rating.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I just wanna give a big shout out to my family because those were the first foundation to really believe in me and push me to my maximum to be able to chase my dreams and goals.
