We had the good fortune of connecting with Alex Malone Jr. and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alex, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
In 2013 I attended a trade school in Edison New Jersey called Job Corps.
There I met a group of like minded creatives, from music to photography/ videography, fashion and acting. We quickly formed a bond and figured we needed to come up with a name. We decided to call our collective “3rd Veyeb”. I realized that other collectives like ASAP Mob and Taylor Gang had their own Merch, So I brought the my idea to the table. It wasn’t long before I had their attention. I remember saying “Why would we pay to wear someone else’s name or logo, when we can rock our own. I created Vybrnt as a means to connect with our audience beyond music. It was a tangible way for our fans to support in the era of SoundCloud and online streaming, As well as a vehicle of expression and a way to control our image.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Looking back I’m proud of my evolution. When you’re in the moment you may not quite see the impact you’re making. Especially if you have your eyes on your ultimate goal.

One word, Consistency.

There have been and continue to be obstacles.
Resilience especially when things aren’t going my way, has gotten me through some tough times. My motto has always been “To try is to lie, to do is to be true”. I could come up with excuses just as easy as solutions. I put my nose to the grind and chose the latter.

I’ve learned that if is sounds too good to be true, it probably is. That Followers don’t equate to real world support and not to share ideas prematurely.

Vybrnt is for anyone on a journey of self development and growth, that’s why I use the butterfly. it represents us. Whenever we start a new creative endeavor or hobby we are like the caterpillar taking small steps everyday. At some point we expect results after all of that footwork. In reality we are in our cocoon phase. We have an opportunity to reflect and make adjustments. Before you know it the world will be showing you your true colors. Besides what butterfly knows the color of their wings?

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
