We had the good fortune of connecting with Raniya Janae and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Raniya, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
When I created “Give It To Em: Heels With Raniya” my goal was to offer a safe, creative space for young women and men, to freely express themselves, build confidence, and pour into one another. In a world where social media and everyday challenges can make life strenuous, I wanted to create an environment where everyone feels welcomed, supported, and empowered to embrace who they are as an individual and have a enjoyable experience while doing so.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What’s sets me apart is my drive and passion. I firmly believe that no one can see your vision quite like you can, and rather than waiting for opportunities to come, I take proactive steps to bring my ideas to life. by creating and not waiting.
Some of my greatest achievements has been being able to perform for “2KChamp” at a music festival, working along side Kodie Shane, and also starring in an Afro Beats music video with Gen Mega Dee, song “So Blessed”.
While the journey has not been without challenges, my long-term aspirations include signing with an agency and teaching and performing internationally. Along the way, I learned the importance of networking and remaining open to learn, as even as a teacher, you are always a student.
I want the world to know that I am a passionate, determined, and energetic young woman who truly loves to dance. I will be on your screen very soon. It would be an honor to have you joining me in one of my classes and experience the Give It To Em experience firsthand.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would definitely take them to Atlantic Station because I feel like there is always an event or something to do there. They have bowling, food, clothing vendors, etc. A fun fact is I enjoy watching sports so I wouldn’t mind going to a Braves game or the Falcons. Me and my best friend have had Ax throwing on our list for the longest and I think this would be a fun activity, especially for the fall/winter season.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to express my deepest gratitude to my family for their unwavering support and for always encouraging me to aim higher than the stars. I also want to expand a heartfelt thank you to my dance teacher, Ms. Tasha, for her constant support of my business and for playing a pivotal role in shaping me into the dancer I am today. Additionally, I am grateful for my high school cheer coach, Ms. Wynn, for recognizing my leadership potential and empowering me to explore my creativity in choreographing a routine. Their values and guidance have been instrumental in my journey.
