We had the good fortune of connecting with Coco Collier and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi CoCo, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I’ve always been passionate about empowering women and making a difference in my community. My own experiences as a cancer warrior further fueled this passion. I saw firsthand the importance of having a strong support system and the power of community. Lumina of Hope was born from this desire to create a safe and supportive space where women could heal, connect, and grow. I wanted to build an organization that could offer transformative experiences and provide the tools and resources women need to thrive.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
As the founder of Lumina of Hope, my passion lies in empowering women and fostering a strong sense of community. We’re more than just a retreat organization; we’re a sisterhood dedicated to uplifting women.

What sets Lumina of Hope apart is our commitment to providing holistic support. Our retreats offer a sanctuary for women to heal, connect, and rediscover their strength. Our retreats are designed to address the unique needs of women, including those who’ve suffered loss, cancer warriors, mothers raising children with special needs, and young mothers. Beyond our retreats, we host year-round community events to foster ongoing connections and support.

Building Lumina of Hope hasn’t been without its challenges. Balancing the demands of a growing organization with personal commitments required unwavering dedication and perseverance. However, the reward of witnessing women transform their lives has made every hurdle worthwhile.

I’ve learned the power of community, the importance of listening to others, and the value of staying true to our mission.

I want the world to know that Lumina of Hope is a beacon of hope for women. We’re here to support, inspire, and empower women to reach their full potential. By joining our community, women can find the strength, support, and resources they need to thrive.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Our first night would be a feast at Mac’s Steakhouse at Marietta Square, a classic joint with a cool, old-school vibe. The next day, we’d explore the charming shops of downtown Acworth, especially Amerylis on Main, and grab a bite at 1885 just across the railroad tracks. Topping it off with delicious ice cream from Scoops.

For a dose of nature, we’d head to Red Top Mountain for a hike.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to dedicate this shoutout to our incredible VP, Erica Lockliear. Her unwavering dedication, strategic thinking, and boundless energy have been instrumental in bringing Lumina of Hope to life. She’s the driving force behind our upcoming Bridgerton-themed gala, and I have no doubt it will be an unforgettable event. I’m incredibly grateful for her friendship, support, and tireless efforts.

Additionally, I want to thank our amazing team of volunteers. Their passion, commitment, and selfless dedication have made it possible for us to achieve so much. Without their support, Lumina of Hope wouldn’t be what it is today.
