We had the good fortune of connecting with Alisa Walters and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alisa, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting my own business began super simple and has slowly grown into a huge vision. Growing up I never saw myself as a business owner, I was going the college route, I loved school. I finished my degree and I’m so glad I did, but I still craved something more in life. As I researched things I was passionate about, like being a stay at home mom, beauty, and holistic living, I knew that I had the place to start a business. Now I have multiple. Having multiple streams of income is so necessary for the kind of life my husband and I plan to give our son. So I started the business, then I started a few more and that vision is huge, and that dream is slowly getting accomplished.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My art is in the form of Digital Creation. I share my research in the form of holistic living and sharing products I truly believe in and use. I also have my own brand and course where I coach others on their online brand. What sets me apart from others is my passion, I go head first with everything that I do. I pour my heart and soul into helping others. I am so proud of my work and the legacy that I am building because putting in the hard work now is going to show my son that truly anything is possible. It definitely wasn’t easy at all. I grew up with a single mom, living paycheck to paycheck and picking up any job. I helped raise my siblings but I knew when I had kids I wanted different. I didn’t want my son to see us struggle with money quite the same that I did. But it was up to us to make it happen. So every single day I show up. I show up tired, I show up regardless of how I feel that day because that goal is way too important to me. My son is my biggest catalyst to making this work. I’ve learned that I’m not a nobody. I struggled with imposter syndrome and feeling like no one cared about what I had to say. But here I am, I have an entire brand and online community that trust what I have to say and come back every day. I learned that there’s power in authenticity and genuinely sharing the good, the bad and everything in between. I learned that people want to feel included and valued and that was a huge goal of mine as well. I want the world to know that I understand struggle, I understand that everyday it’s hard to show up but our babies are worth it. Our legacy is worth it. It’s tough, some days I didn’t want to show up. But think, if you don’t post that video, if you don’t make the content, if you don’t share the product, if you don’t create your brand, who knows what you could be missing out on. And THAT is too huge to pass up or miss!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I live in Tampa and alot of my friends are moms so everything would be kid friendly! I love going to Hyde park, they have the cutest coffee shops, a really cute ice pop place and adorable scenery for content. I also really love the parks that are over here. The Carrollwood park has a great splash pad and also a beautiful trail that goes along a lake with a bridge. I’d also take them to the Tampa Outlets, they have a beautiful fountain and so many shops with great discounts. I’d take them to my favorite thrift store and visit multiple coffee shops. I love Elevation Roasters, Foxtail and any Starbucks. I’d show them the biggest target, I just love shopping. I’d take them to the Florida aquarium and maybe take a 2 hour road trip to Orlando. Where we could check out Disney Springs, the Universal Boardwalk and a super fun museum for the kids to run around! I’d also take them to the St Pete pier and the best little shop for sandwiches over there. Anything with good food, coffee and shopping is my favorite. I like to say I’m a stay at home mom that doesn’t stay at home!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Right off the bat, my thought is my husband, JT! Once we got married in 2020, we really sat down to think about what we wanted in life. He’s a huge dreamer, whereas my dreams were kind of, in a box. He helped me to step outside that box, step outside my comfort zone and just take the plunge. He helps me everyday with my brand and my creation. He has so much expertise in this digital marketing and business owner field so I pick his brain daily. He’s so supportive, whether it’s showing up in a video, watching our son for a client call or being my personal videographer, I am so thankful for him.
