We had the good fortune of connecting with Johanna Clark and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Johanna, is there something you believe many others might not?
Business is only about numbers.

I believe business is numbers, sure to a point. But in my heart I believe business is about relationships, leading with integrity and providing the best customer service to clients and a place where your staff feels they can approach you with anything.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I get to make women feel better and beautiful everyday. Beyond the chair it’s the human connection that’s so important and makes this industry so special. In any given week I hear about marriage proposals, new babies on the way, new job promotions etc and I love sharing in that joy for my clients who some have even become wonderful friends. On the flip side I’ve been honored enough to hold a safe space for clients to share some of their saddest moments, losses or difficult times. Something really special happens in that hair chair.

Before I owned a brick and mortar salon, I was in a salon loft, and prior to that I worked at a really fun salon in Buckhead where I learned so much and made some life long friends.

After Covid hit, my families needs changed and much to my dismay I went on my own and in a matter of a few chaotic, emotional days, my salon was born. It almost felt as if the universe forced me in the most organic yet instant fashion. There was no denying it was my time to do my own thing. However, I am forever grateful for all the friendships and inspiration I gained working with some of the most talented women in this city.

Some of the lessons I’ve learned since owning my own salon is never get too comfortable. The only thing certain with entrepreneurship is the consistency of change. Learning patience and understanding of others beyond yourself, is so important…while still always learning to move forward! If there is a problem or issue, there will almost always be a solution and a lesson along the way.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Hmm I love this city so much and there is always so much to do! Some of my fave restaurants are Umi, Chops, New York Prime and I love stopping by Himitsu or the St. Regis for a nightcap.

Weather permitting I always love the beltline and making our way down to I man park for some shopping and cocktails – Barcelona or Del Bar have always been faves!!

Maybe even go to Mercedes Benz for a game or concert if someone fun is in town.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would love to dedicate my shout out to my husband Ben. Not only has he always inspired me from the very beginning as a small business owner himself, but he has always been my biggest supporter, confidant and has truly believed in me since day one.
