We asked folks about legacy and what they want people to remember about them. We’ve shared some of those responses below.

Kaleb Harden | Creative Director & Designer

When it’s all said and done, I will be remembered as someone who helped people to live for themselves. Whether I am making clothes, videos, or whatever I am fascinated with at the time, I always do it for myself & my morals. I use my creativity to spread God’s word and to uplift people. If we better the individual, we can better the collective. Through this, we can achieve a sort of personal freedom that will start at the roots of humanity, branch off, and leave a lasting impression on anything else that follows after. Read more>>

Jamie Bender | Owner of Aunt J’s Home Bakery

I want people to remember the way I served others and took time to appreciate the small things in life. Life can be so busy, but my goal is to serve others and take the time to meet other’s needs. I strive to smile and talk to people that I interact with every day. Whether that is at the grocery store, at work, or at a restaurant. I want to be involved in my community and remembered for making a difference and encouraging others in their faith as well as chasing their dreams. We live in such a go go go society, but I want others to know they can rely on me for anything that they may need, and I will take the time to help them. Read more>>

Valerie Mcpherson | Romantic Content Creator

Content creating is a roller coaster, one month your inbox can be filled with opportunities and dream campaigns and then the next month, it can be crickets! The biggest factor I keep in mind is the WHY . I started content creating because I had a huge passion for showcasing pieces on my body type, skin tone and overall appearance .
While I might not fit the typical “content creator” or “influencer” “look” I believe my content drives change even if it’s just for one person. Read more>>

Auntie Bev | Vocabulary Builder

I believe there are three important factors behind the success of the “Auntie Bev. brand”. First and foremost, my teenage grandson has been truly instrumental in helping me to create this brand. He is the one who encouraged me to join TikTok three years ago to teach his generation vocabulary words to help them improve their communication skills. I was extremely reluctant because I saw TikTok as a waste of time that I could devote elsewhere. Nonetheless, I ultimately jumped on the bandwagon and started developing the Auntie Bev. persona. Cher Terais | The Queen of Wanderlust Romance

The most important factor behind mine and my brand’s success is adaptability. As an author and publisher, I write and publish stories that center perfectly imperfect black women and the men who chase them around the world. They are stories of black romance, multicultural romance; it’s wanderlust romance. These stories are born of my own travels around the world, my passion for beautiful spaces, places, people and culture, and my own failures and successes with love. Read more>>
