Meet Nathaniel “tony” Bryan | Personal Trainer & Entrepreneur

We had the good fortune of connecting with Nathaniel “tony” Bryan and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nathaniel “Tony”, what inspires you?
The question you asked is a great one. I find inspiration from many sources, such as my family, happiness, change, and growth. I’m inspired by my family because they raised me to be the person that I am currently growing into today. I came from very humble beginnings but looking back on my life I wouldn’t have known that when I was younger because I thought that that way of living was the norm. My family made life like we were the richest people on earth even though we didn’t have a lot but as a kid, I couldn’t tell. I come from a hard-working, sacrificing family that did what needed to be done so we could be satisfied and happy despite our situation. My family inspires me because I want to take care of them like they took care of me so my work ethic comes from them so that I’m able to take care of those that took care of me.
I’m inspired by happiness or to be fully happy because again when I’m able to take care of my loved ones…when I’m able to help people through fitness (the mental and physical side of it) and help people to change their lifestyles so that they can help others change around them then I’m good. I want to inspire others to be better…to see themselves better than what they used to see within themselves because I know how long it took me to be confident in myself and what I bring to any table. my happiness is huge for me…I can’t be around people who are toxic and always in a bad mood or always with a negative aura around them… NO…you have to go over there somewhere far the hell away from me because I’m too blessed for negativity to be around me at this point in my life.
I’m inspired by growth/change because I love the person that I am becoming especially moving away from the person that I used to be. My mind don’t think the way that it used to. My temper don’t get the best of me the way it used to. people don’t get to me the way they used to. Is it a tough process…Hell yeah, but prayer and patience have helped a lot. Having the right people around me has helped a lot. People that feed into me and help me to see things from other perspectives because the old me didn’t care how anyone else thought because the way I thought was good and we all know our way of thinking is many times NOT right or logical. To see how hard-headed, stubborn, mean, unapologetic I used to be to now not as hard-headed, stubborn, mean, and unapologetic is tremendous growth/change LOL but seriously I listen more, I compromise more because it’s not all about what I want and think… other amazing people in this world are smarter, who have been in more situations that I can learn from and become better because of. I truly believe that my change has helped me to be able to do things that I dreamed about doing, be around people that I would only see on TV and movies, help people that probably would have never talked to me but God is amazing and I’ll forever follow him and praise him.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m a personal trainer, clothing brand owner, and soon-to-be successful gym owner. I’m absolutely in love with what I do. To be able to first have a purpose and then to be able to follow that purpose while having fun while doing it is mind-blowing to me. I wake up every day and give God praise because he’s blessed me to be able to help people…through fitness of all things. It’s crazy to me. Being a personal trainer is NOT a lucrative job…it’s a rare few that have become millionaires from being a personal trainer but I didn’t get into it for the money even though I want to make lots of it LOL…it’s about doing what God leads me to do and I’m going to do my absolute BEST…EVERY DAMN DAY.
What sets me apart is several things…my ability to encourage others to be better and then watch as they see that damn…I just said that I couldn’t do something and I believed in myself to lift this heavy weight, run those laps, lose this weight but I did all of that and more. What sets me apart is my work ethic…I’m not afraid of working long hours, or staying up late to write a program for a client because it will benefit them in the long run. I’m most proud of the success stories, and the transformations many of my clients have gone through and going through right now…all because they trust me…that’s huge for me but it pushes me to continue to be better for them. I’m excited about the future, and the people that I’m going to be able to help and inspire but I’m only going to be able to do that if I stay on my game and continue to learn and get better at my craft. I got to where I am today professionally because of God and because of the people that have believed in me.
No, it wasn’t easy because my previous job the last 5 years was an absolute horror but the lessons I learned from it were patience and humbleness so I took something good from the bad. As badly as I wanted to move and be working another job God wasn’t ready for me to move and he made me suffer so that I could appreciate the small things like learning about myself and what I needed to let go for me to receive bigger and better.
I want the world to know that integrity, sticking to the code, not skipping steps, and working/sacrificing the right now for a better future is still the best way to go. I never cared what anyone else is doing because I was never a follower…I’m always going to ride my own wave…eventually, others will get on board with it too but until then…WE WORK.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Honestly, I don’t go out so I would have to use my favorite app…YELP and look up something for them or call one of the homies who stay “OUTSIDE” and see what’s going on in the city. LOL

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to recognize God because without him none of this would be possible. Secondly, I want to recognize my Momma, my Granny (RIP), my Brother Ty, my uncles Bobby (RIP), Marvin (RIP), Mark (RIP), and Uncle Ronald. Mr. and Mrs. Williams, my brothers/sister from another mother…My calm…my past/current/future clients…I truly want to thank ALL of you for trusting me and my teaching style. It may seem extreme but IT WORKS HUH? LOL. Thank God again for this wonderful opportunity he’s blessed me with. I’m Blessed.
