We had the good fortune of connecting with Project Born and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Project Born, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind our success is being able to help put others in a position to be successful. That includes family, friends and also those that we come across and build relationships with. It’s refreshing to be able to help others succeed. Coming from where we’re from it’s truly a blessing to do what we do.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
We formed our group in 1989 in Flint,Michigan. Growing up in a dangerous city/neighborhood it was always tough to figure a way to get by. All we knew was basketball and rapping. But unfortunately the streets sunk us in and it lead to alot of bad decision making and that lead to alot of problems with the law. We knew we had talent to do good things but never did we imagine that we could take this story about 3 po kidz and spread it all across the world. It was definitely tough but we chose to keep at it because we believed in our talents. Along the way we had our challenges that came with the struggle as far as learning to trust people and also to keep it strictly business and never personal. We want the world to know and see that it doesn’t matter where you are from and what you do or don’t have, It’s all about being true to yourself, believing in what you set out to do and having a great team around you. Project Born is not only a rap group it’s a movement.
If you wanna learn more about our story we have a book titled “Forever In The Jects” that’s available on Amazon.

Thank you,
Project Born

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
First we would get some big John’s steak and onion that’s the spot all our friends from out of town love when they visit. Then we will hit the Genesee Valley mall check it out. Next we will eat at Outback steak house or maybe Luckys. After we will drive down to Great Lakes crossing Mall, Play a little bowling at Round one then head over to play some Top Golf. Gotta take em to see the neighborhood and meet some of our homies. Then we’ll have our mother make us a big dinner and enjoy family and friends just hanging out.
(Don’t club no more) so it’ll be just family and friend hangouts.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
