Meet Elijah Blackwell

We had the good fortune of connecting with Elijah Blackwell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Elijah, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Before starting TEAMBall Atlanta, I worked for a previous company similar to TEAMBall and fell in love instantly! I noticed over the years that; I’m only servicing the North Atlanta Area and so many friends in the Metro Atlanta area let alone the world need these exact same programs to get the necessary jumpstart they’ll need into their adolescence stages.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I’ll never forget the moment I was introduced to what is now my Calling from Life!

After coming home from college, Valdosta State University, I came home and had no idea what was next!

Barbering was always an option for me, as I always revered the lifestyle of a barber and being able to install confidence and happiness in the next person!

Shortly once I realized this was the route I was going to take, I attended Pro way Barbering School in the Metro Atlanta Area for a short while!

My family has always preached follow what you love, not what you desire and months into Barbering School I realized barbering wasn’t a passion, as it was more so a lifestyle I wanted to obtain!

Realizing this fate, I dropped out of Pro way and began working local jobs! I never knew that I loved working with youth until I came back home from college one summer and worked at my church, Berean Christian Church, Summer Camp!

After working at the Summer Camp, I told myself I’m only working youth related/sports jobs!

I began searching on indeed and landed Suwanee Sports Academy, where I gained a lot of experience operating a gym and leagues. Then I found a job on indeed called Playball Atlanta as a “Toddler Physical Education Coach”.

I had no idea what I was signing myself up for lol!

I seen PE and was ready to go!

My first day of training, I’ll never forget, I pulled into a preschool and called my boss and asked where I at the right location lol!

Ms. Crystal, My Trainer, Came and got me from the parking lot and the rest was history!

After leaving that preschool, I knew i found my passion!

I was ready to work for Playball for 20+ years!

Unfortunately, well was it unfortunate now looking back?

Covid-19 took over the world as I was relieved of my duties from Playball Atlanta!

Time goes on through Covid and I land another opportunity with another company as the Franchise Manager!

I’m big into life and having faith in his plan!

So, I realized my time was temporary here as a Franchise Manager, as life is preparing me to run my OWN Toddler PE Program!

I Created TEAMBall Atlanta, the Winter of 2022, with my last $100.00 to create my website!

I was out of town with family at that! I didn’t care, I knew this was a sign from God to jump and have faith!

So, I jumped!

I left the Franchise Manager Position, started TEAMBall Atlanta and haven’t looked back since!

Now TEAMBall Atlanta is currently hosting Physical Education Programs in 15 different Preschools across the entire Metro Atlanta Area from Conyers to Cumming GA and currently growing!

We wouldn’t be here without the support of all of our friends and families!

Were currently getting ready to extend Programs to friends that don’t attend preschool by hosting in central locations in Dekalb and Marietta!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If I had a friend pull up from out of town, I would take them to a Hawks Game for one!

The Trae Young Experience like cant get no better than that!

Then we’ll probably go hit Twin Peaks get some good grub, chill and get ready for the night!

Rather Zari or a good Rooftop Lounge, the options are always available!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
TEAMBall Atlanta wants to give a special shoutout to all of our families at Berean Christian Church, The Goddard School of Vinings, Peachtree Academy West and East, West Cobb Prep Academy, A Kids World Covington, Discovery Point, Johnsons Learning Center, Creekside Christian Academy, Decatur Presbyterian Community Church, Childcare Network Excell Preparatory for allowing TEAMBall Atlanta to connect with all of our friends through the use of Sports, Motor Skills Development, Spatial Awareness, and Physical Education .
