We had the good fortune of connecting with Alexis S. and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alexis, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
I have plenty. But one of my favorites is by Thich Nhat Hanh. He once said, “No mud, no lotus.” Although this particular quote is very short and direct, it is very significant and purposeful. It reminds me that through suffering, beauty and compassion can be found, and that pain can produce a type of beauty that you would never know was within had you not been crushed.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I have a broad range of expertise. I am currently employed in the healthcare world and also have a creative business called Mystic Minds and a podcast on the rise called Connect the Dots Podcast. I chose to pursue the creative world with Mystic because that’s where my mind, body, and soul feel more alive. It feels more vibrant. It feels right, as well as good. It just feels safe. To be able to not only live in a world of beauty but also experience and understand it brings a different level of satisfaction.

With Connect the Dots Podcast, my team and I desire to bridge the gap between diverse perspectives by delivering quick and captivating content that entertains, informs, and resonates with our listeners. The goal we aim to achieve in every episode solely leads to healing, wellness, and connection by leading with intentionality and vulnerability. To be able to say that we are weeks away from recording our first episode featuring Tonkwitthagift sounds so surreal because I can remember when everything that I am doing now was once only a vision. It’s amazing to witness what God will produce when you learn to trust what he’s planted. Be sure to tune in and stay connected!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I am from Atlanta, born and raised. I am definitely Atlanta Made, and I love my city! If we don’t give you anything else, we are going to give you a vibe, and I’m a vibe girl myself, so a day with me would probably be brunch at 41 Sports Bar in Edgewood, then hitting the lake and relaxing in nature for a bit for some fresh air, doing a little shopping and sliding by the Battery to feel the ATL vibes, and then ending the day with dinner during the sunset at Weezy’s.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Of course!!! I would like to thank God first and foremost for loving me whole when I only had parts of myself to offer and also reminding me that even in my storms, I am the head and not the tail. And then I would also like to thank Bishop T.D. Jakes and Sarah Jakes for being the messengers. Feeding my soul was very necessary during times I was experiencing warfare, and God would deliver messages and provide insight through those individuals when I needed it the most, providing me with wisdom to last me a lifetime.
