We had the good fortune of connecting with Auntie Gee N Uncle P and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Auntie Gee, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Our decision to start this podcast was deeply rooted in a desire to share the lessons we’ve learned from our life challenges and experiences. We wanted to provide our nieces and nephews with valuable insights, hoping to guide them away from making the same mistakes we’ve encountered. By sharing our perspectives, we aim to foster honest discussions on crucial topics such as mental health, entrepreneurship, and relationships. Our goal is to create a platform that not only informs but also resonates with our listeners, offering them practical advice and relatable stories that can help them navigate their own journeys.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Uncle P:
I’m deeply passionate about mentoring the youth, driven by the challenges I’ve faced in my own life. My journey hasn’t always been easy, but it’s these experiences that fuel my desire to give back. I want young people to know that there are multiple paths in life, and I’m here to share the wisdom I’ve gained to help guide them in a positive direction. This profession came naturally to me because it’s something I’m truly passionate about. Along the way, I’ve learned that every setback is an opportunity to grow, and I’m committed to sharing these lessons to help others avoid the same pitfalls. In addition to mentoring, I express my creativity through designing clothes and making music, blending my personal experiences with artistic expression to inspire others.

Auntie Gee:
Heyyy!!! (laughs) My journey into full-time entrepreneurship really took off during the pandemic. I made the bold decision to leave my 9-to-5 and dive headfirst into building my own business, and let me tell you, it’s been quite the ride! Entrepreneurship has its highs and lows—there are days of incredible success and days that test your resolve. But what I love most is the freedom to create my own schedule and bring my visions to life. I’m proud to say I’ve built two brands, one of which is a luxury line set to launch soon. Cooking is another passion of mine, and I’m excited to announce that my own line of seasonings will be hitting the shelves before the year ends. Beyond my own ventures, I find joy in helping others bring their ideas to life by working on their merchandise. And of course, music is a big part of who I am. Uncle P and I even have a song together called “Big Shit,” which you can stream on all platforms right now! My journey is all about creativity, resilience, and empowering others to follow their passions.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Auntie Gee:
Now, this is definitely my kind of question because I absolutely love exploring new places and trying different food experiences! Uncle P is a vegetarian, so we’d kick off the week by hitting up some of the best veggie-friendly spots in Atlanta. As for me, I still indulge in a little turkey here and there, so we’d mix it up with some spots that cater to both our tastes (laughs).

Atlanta is full of hidden gems, so we’d probably start our food adventure by finding a trendy spot on TikTok and hoping it’s as good as it looks—because you know how that can go! For a change of pace, we’d head to Roswell Mill Park, one of our favorite spots to soak up nature. We’d hike through the beautiful trails and take in the stunning waterfall there—it’s the perfect escape from the city.

When it’s time for drinks, nothing beats a good Mexican spot! I’m a firm believer that they have the best drinks in town, and you definitely get your money’s worth. To top off the night, we’d hit up a karaoke bar—because what’s more fun than belting out your favorite songs with your best friend? We’d sing the night away, maybe even bring down the house with our own rendition of “Big Shit” (laughs).

All in all, it’d be a week filled with good vibes, great food, and unforgettable memories!
