Hi Joel, what do you want your legacy to be?
I aspire to leave a legacy as a devoted man of God who brings people together through podcasting, faith, and community. My goal is to unite individuals from all walks of life, fostering understanding and connection through these platforms. By sharing faith-driven conversations and creating supportive spaces, I aim to build a strong sense of community.

Honoring the path laid by those before me is central to my mission. I deeply value the sacrifices and efforts of previous generations and seek to build upon their foundation with integrity. I want to be remembered as someone who passionately served both God and His people, embodying dedication and compassion in every aspect of my life.

My journey is driven by a commitment to fulfill my purpose and make a meaningful impact, serving with unwavering faith until my work is complete.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I am a Producer, Writer, Entrepreneur, and Community Servant. Over two years ago, I launched the ‘Toss and Talk’ podcast on July 20th. Initially a solo venture, it quickly grew into a team effort. ‘Toss and Talk’ is a faith-based podcast dedicated to uniting people through Christ and fellowship. Over time, we expanded into an outreach department, now becoming an official non-profit. We’ve hosted over three events and aired more than 45 episodes, currently in our third season with over 2,556 streams on Spotify. Our podcast has made a significant impact in Johnson City and across Tennessee.

I am also excited to announce my new business, Carter Enterprise Network, which produces podcasts like ‘Toss and Talk’ and several others launching in fall 2024. Additionally, my first book, ‘Tasting the Moment,’ is a cookbook that celebrates how food creates lasting memories, featuring cherished recipes from my mom and grandmother. ‘Tasting the Moment’ will be available for pre-sale on August 31st and for sale on September 4th exclusively on Amazon.

Along the way, I have learned to keep God at the center of my endeavors. With each step, God is by our side, guiding us through every challenge. Taking moments to rest is essential for building success, as it strengthens us for future projects. Even in the Bible, Jesus took moments to rest, teaching us the importance of balance and understanding that there is a timing for everything.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
As soon as they land, the first thing we’ll do is head straight to get something to eat because, as Gen Z, we some big backs! After eating, we’ll set our things down, get some rest, and then head straight to Tiebreakers. We’ll make it a week-long trip filled with fun and relaxation.

**Day 1:**
– Morning: Hike popular trails in the area.
– Brunch: Maple Street Biscuit Company.
– Evening: Dinner at Smokey Bones.

**Day 2:**
– Drive around the city, visit favorite parks, and head to Blue Hole Waterfall.
– Return home to binge-watch TV shows like *Scandal* and *Grey’s Anatomy*.
– Go to the store to make a homemade dinner at the house.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to dedicate this shoutout to my incredible family—my parents, and especially my Mom and Grandparents—who are the foundation of my faith and the essence of who I am. Their sacrifices have been profound, shaping me into the person I am today. My grandparents have poured their love and effort into all of us grandkids, with my grandmother instilling in me a passion for cooking, and my grandfather fostering my love for community and faith. They are a true embodiment of faith and legacy. Most importantly, I want to acknowledge my Mom, who has been my unwavering supporter and best friend. She has taught me to strive for 100% of my potential and has been a guiding light in my journey. Their collective influence and dedication are the cornerstones of my strength and identity.
