We had the good fortune of connecting with Kendall McCluney and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kendall, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
From an early age the art of photography captivated me as a means of artistic self-expression. My passion lies in encapsulating memories, both on film and digitally. Whether it involves capturing the beauty of a vast landscape, the intimacy of a spontaneous interaction between individuals or candid content my aim has always been to capture enduring images that hold sentimental value. As I envisioned the trajectory of my photography business, my fundamental inspiration remained constant: leveraging my artistic vision to immortalize the significant moments of life, both grand and subtle.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What continues to inspire my passion for photography is the ability to generate new works of art. Even during moments when inspiration may seem elusive, the intrinsic joy I feel from capturing moments through my camera lens propels me forward. Over time, a valuable lesson I’ve internalized is the importance of perseverance. By silencing self-doubt, nurturing my craft, and safeguarding the tranquility that accompanies my creative process, I have found a pathway to sustained growth and fulfillment in my artistry. I want the world to know that IV Vision by K is more than photography. For me it’s not just about taking pictures or a hobby; for me it’s about capturing the essence of a moment. I believe in creating images that not only look beautiful but also evoke emotions and fostering a comfortable and creatively open environment for my clients. Whether it’s a concert, a family portrait, or a corporate event, I strive to tell a compelling story through my lens!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We would have to start the weekend on a rooftop probably Spaceman then get dinner somewhere close. Start Saturday with a morning yoga class or some type of workout then do a spa day at Woodhouse or visit a winery to have some time to decompress and relax. If there was a concert or sporting event going on that week/weekend we would also make plans to do that and spend time enjoying the city outside of the regular hustle and bustle!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to express my gratitude to my family and friends for their unwavering support in encouraging me to showcase my work before the formal establishment of my business. Additionally, I extend my appreciation to The Two-Six Project, a beloved non-profit organization that enables me to apply my creative perspective across various aspects. Special thanks to my mother for gifting me my first camera and my late grandfather who spent hours being my muse as I learned new lighting techniques.
