We had the good fortune of connecting with Erin Braxton and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Erin, is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?
My favorite quote is a confession I tell myself, “Dreams Do Come True”. As a kid, I was a big fan of Disney, and I remember dreaming big. Sometimes, days can look incredibly daunting as you go through life, and you wonder if you will grow through the adversity you are experiencing. That is when the personal development kicks in. You have to wipe the callus skin from your eyes, theoretically. I remind myself, “Dreams Do Come True”. Whatever your goal is you are trying to achieve, remember it is attainable. You can do it. Never give up. Don’t ever let go of that little girl or little boy inside you that has big dreams.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I was born and raised in Alabama for the majority of my life. We relocated a lot during my childhood. I grew up a lone wolf until I found my place in the world in middle school when we moved to Pittsburgh, PA. It was the most significant move. It was a culture shock and led to my discovery and passion for acting. I was exposed to food, music, people, and new experiences. I now know myself better than I ever have. I find this an important part of my work as an actress. I believe in telling the truth through the lens of the character. Often, this requires me to understand my relationship with myself and with the character. My career started working behind the scenes in TV and film as an assistant. I believe the door opened for me because it was a part of God’s plan. I also believe if I never bet on myself, I would not have come as far as I have.
Risks are a part of my bold nature. As an actress, my journey looks different. I don’t have tangible results to show you of the roles I have booked on a primetime network yet, but I do have opportunities that I have been honored to experience. Most importantly, I see myself improving. I see the growth in my self-tapes and personal development. Every day I wake up, I look for an opportunity to take a risk. It is a part of my belief in my ability that I am successful, not waiting for success to find me. It’s my journey, and I have to be satisfied with the choices made when the day is over. I admire a creative person’s ability to bounce back. I look forward to my future and opportunities to work in front of the camera. I want my story to inspire others to not be afraid of being little in big environments. It leaves room for gifts to develop and potential to be tapped into.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We could start the day at a European coffee house — Cafe Intermezzo then stop by a pilates class at Solid Core Buckhead. Spend the day lounging by a rooftop pool or do some shopping at Lenox mall. Then wine tasting and dinner at Barcelona Wine Bar. There is also a spot called Lucian Books and Wine! We both love books and wine. I think that would be a cool spot to visit.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
