We had the good fortune of connecting with Asha Wilhight and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Asha, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind my success is optimism. Without optimism, how can you get through the days of discouragement or the “bad days” when it can always be worse. With success, it’s always a plus when you LOVE doing what you do and the support from others are genuine. As long as I am consistent and organically me, the growth will come in various ways, small and big.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I would say that my “Art” in a broader light is Content Creation. It started with photography (IG: acwfotography) in high school and then videography, which encouraged me to make YouTube (Qween Asha) videos after college. With my Bachelors in Multimedia Journalism, it definitely helped me get to where I am now, with getting the base understanding of filming, b-roll, editing, voice overs, etc. As of today, I dibble and dabble with my art, but I have specified my craft with ” What is there to do?” What I mean by that is, whatever experiences I have done or tried, I share them with anyone who is interested. So if you are in Atlanta, I may have a few food options, activities to try or places to stay. Some more locations include, Nashville and Chattanooga Tennessee; Jacksonville, Florida; Scottsdale, Arizona; Virginia; Houston, Texas, etc. Recently, I like to suggest the app, Atmosfy, which is a “food/experience” app version like TikTok. It’s so easy to navigate through and find something new to do or see a place from that individuals point of view.

I’m most excited about the growth I am going to continue to get, in hopes that I will be peoples “go to” when trying to figure out “what to do?” It was not the easiest to get where I am today, but I continue to overcome by staying consistent and not being negative, because if you focus on likes, interactions, or what people think, you will not last in that profession. A lesson that I have learned through all of this is just be me because it’s harder to be to be anyone else. That is where genuine love and support comes from.

If the world wants to know anything about me is that, I have a very positive outlook on life, despite all of the hardships I have faced. I now look at situations in a way that it takes so much energy to be mad, sad, upset, so why indulge in the negativity because you won’t be able to get anything with that type of attitude. My hardships have a lot to do with why I do what I do, but I will end it with picture and videos are not worth a thousand words, but more so millions.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Wow! Odd enough, a question that I always look forward to answering! Well I’m from Atlanta, so in no particular order,

If we are going with food: Minero in Ponce City Market, Baba’s Kitchen (Mediterranean), No Mas Cantina

If we are going with desserts: Cereal and Cream, Insomnia Cookies

If we are going with drinks: Jojo’s Cocktail, Daquiriville, Okay Anny’s

If we are going with nightlife: Wicked Wolf, Live! at The Battery, Octopus Kitchen, MJQ

If we are going with Adult Fun: Your 3rd Spot, Puttshack, The Painted Pin, The Painted Duck

If we are going with hands on; Candle Lit Atlanta, Secret Garden Pole, Stoddards Range and Guns, Trap Music Museum

And if interested in the “touristy side” I would take her to World of Coca Cola, Georgia Aquarium, Football Hall of Fame, Centennial Park, Waffle House, American Deli

I won’t say I can go on and on, but this is something that I realized over time that I enjoy doing even through the editing. But all of these places are right in Atlanta, and are interchangeable depending on what vibe you’re going for.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to say shoutout to my village. Those who have been around from childhood to not only to watch me grow, but those who have pushed and encouraged me in being consistent with my content creation. I always knew that I wanted to do media, but I was not sure the route I wanted to take. So THANK YOU to my partner, family and friends who know EXACTLY who they are. Y’all are more than appreciated.
