We had the good fortune of connecting with Danielle Nicole and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Danielle, other than deciding to work for yourself, what else do you think played a pivotal role in your story?
Enrolling in Cosmetology school has to be the most important decision I’ve made that has contributed to my success. In the state of Georgia you have to be a Licensed Master Cosmetologist if you’re going to work with esthetics and hair.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m proud of how much my lash business has grown. I always ask my clients how’d they find me and when they tell me through social media or asking a complete stranger who did their lashes because they love the work I did on their eyes it makes me so happy. Honestly it wasn’t easy getting where I am today. I’ve had a few personal set backs. I had to grow mentally as well. A few lessons that I’ve learned is that all money isn’t good money. I’ve also learned to never debate with a client because it really isn’t worth it. I want the world to know that I am completely about business but I’m also very understanding. If you work with me I will work with you.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I don’t really have too much time on my hands to really go out but if I did or when I do we’d probably go to the Ponce City Market and hang out or even go out to eat at a restaurant like Houston’s. Maybe go out that night and party at Lyfe or a chill spot like Harold’s Chicken & Ice Bar.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My mother is the only one I want to shout out. She has invested time money and energy into my business multiple times. Anytime I’ve needed advice when dealing with a situation concerning my business she’s there. Anytime I get discouraged she pulls me out of that funk and helps me get back on track.
