We had the good fortune of connecting with Rodney Perry and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rodney, how do you think about risk?
I have lived most of my life with a healthy amount of risk, leaving TN to go to school in Atlanta, leaving Atlanta to move to Chicago, leaving corporate to starting a business, I don’t believe anyone can progress staying safe within the lines you have to step out of your comfort zone to grow which is always risky.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
The work I have done is very much still in its infant phase I started my business in the middle of the pandemic and its not easy and it has it’s ups and downs in so many ways but I believe its something that I don’t mind continuously growing with. I genuinely got to where I am today based on my infatuation of marketing and branding in addition to my knack for technology. I believe I am learning all the time that I have everything I need to succeed while simultaneously not knowing enough to just make it happen in a day. The one thing that I want the world to know about Life as King is that balance is achievable in running a business and having a healthy digital presence can make or break your business output.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Ok this is a interesting question for Atlanta because it can be approached in a million ways. If there is a week’s worth of time I would be intentional to show all sides of Atlanta. First day get any tourist desires out the way, go to African American History Museum, World of Coca-Cola, etc. eat at Paschal’s during the day, take them to Edgewood at night. Then I would designate each following day to be on a certain side of town. Go to Dekalb Farmers market make a great meal inside after showing off downtown Decatur, go up to the Battery catch a movie at the Silverspot, then eat at Superica, Walk the beltline and have lunch at Buena Vida tapas spot right off the belt line. I can keep going as you see but I think emphasis on food and experiences would be the itinerary

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I believe that my mother is my biggest supporter and motivation to strive for more. I watched her sacrifice her time and energy to create the best home for me and my sister, and if I can do even half as much as she did for me I would feel successful.
