We had the good fortune of connecting with Queen Left and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Queen, why did you pursue a creative career?
I decided to pursue an artistic career because that’s what makes me feel most alive. I’m allowed to be authenticity me with no boundaries, anything holding me back or anyone supervising me. I love the ability to express my rawest, realest emotions; the ability to transmute pain into power through music is a passion & purpose
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My art is a myriad of many different elements. I love to incorporate my spirituality and lessons along the journey within my music. What makes me stand out is how I write and arrange my music. Also, the different styles musically and artistry I can hop into. I see myself as multidimensional, not to be put into a box but I fuse things with ease and it comes together smoothly.
It definitely wasn’t easy. I was with a manager for a few years and things just didn’t work out. I learned a lot about the business and found who I was as in artist in that time so it wasn’t wasted, I gained a deeper perspective of everything around me.
I want the world to know it’s ok to be in your full authentic self and go for what you want without the worries, doubts, criticisms of others. You have to live your life for you. Thats something I’ve always embraced and want to continue to share
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love art museums, nature parks, jazz clubs, yoga/meditation events, I also love to try different food spots out here in Atlanta.
It’s always much to do so I’d just take them to what seems the most appealing to us at the time wether it’s a concert, live music show, a festival; as long as we have a good time!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would love to recognize and show gratitude to Vianca, founder and owner of Vision Oasis. I appreciate her help and support for me and my art, making sure I make the best steps towards my success.
I would also love to shoutout my friend & supporter Chrissy Tucker. She’s always down to help me create my project with me, and take me to my shows in support. A lot of artists don’t have that type of support, so I truly appreciate her because it keeps me going
