Meet LaMar Williams III | Actor & Producer

We had the good fortune of connecting with LaMar Williams III and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi LaMar, why did you pursue a creative career?
I believe I’ve always pursued an artistic or creative career because I have always had an artistic outlook on life as a whole. I’ve always had creative perspectives on how to approach obstacles that I deal with on the daily. Not to mention I’ve always been active in many artistic platforms since I was a child. Whether it has been theater, drawing, creating my own comics and acting in general.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m a film producer and writer for my brand BellaMar Pictures Inc. I am also a set lighting technician for a multitude of productions. I got to where I am today from countless hours of hard work, networking, and investing in myself. There was times where I reconsidered this journey due to the shortage of funds and at times belief. What kept me going was the lesson of ME being my biggest believer and taking the risks that an entrepreneur/independent professional should. What I want the world to know about my story is that faith in God and in yourself is the key to living in your purpose.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If I could show a friend Atlanta for a week, the first thing we would do is hit that beautiful city we have. Take a little joy ride to check out all of downtown and the monuments. Then we would hit the Sundial that night for a 5 star meal and views. The next day, I would take them to Ponce City Market then Piedmont park for a stroll in the park. If it’s any sports seasons at the time, I would love to take them to a Hawks and an Atlanta United game. Lastly I would take them to the water. I’ll invite them to my uncles boat and have a couple drinks with some of my industry colleagues on Lake Allatoona.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to thank my brand BellaMar Pictures and my partner Rowland Jordan for the commitment to doing what we love over the years no matter the obstacles or doubts. I would like to thank my family and the Jordan family for giving us the foundation to have the belief system and work ethic we have today. Most importantly I would like to thank God for without HIM there would be no story to begin with.
